Chrysler Corp LLC
« on: August 05, 2007 - 08:42:34 PM »
Chrysler is no longer daimlerchrysler as of last friday, is renamed Chrysler LLC and is the first auto manufacturer to be privately owned since Ford in 1956 before it went public.  They are unveiling their "new" emblem tomorrow morning, the good ol fashioned pentastar   Dunno how things are gonna go, but so far looking good.

I heard that too.

I dont know about the whole Pentastar thing.  I read a persons blog once where they talked about it.  All the kids who grew up in the 80's and early 90's said that if they put the Pentastar on a new vehicle they probably wouldnt buy it.  Reason is, these kids grew up seeing all the "crappy" Chryslers, and when they see Pentastar, thats what they think.  They also said that the logo now is great.  It seems that ever since they came out with the newer Chrysler logo, the quality has been excellent.

So, I think they should stick with what has been working, in order to save sales.  The part of the population from 25 - 35 are in the market the most for new vehicles, just getting out of school, etc.  They need new wheels, and they wont buy something with a Pentastar on it.  Sad but true.   :2cents:

I just hope that they make a smart desition and make the new Challenger afordable to all. They want sales of cars so if they decide to market it as an limited model to just a few thousand for the the rich than I could car less if they go tits up. I will be one of the first in line to buy a Mustang or Camaro and send Chrysler a pic of all my Mopars along with my new car and say thanks for nothing. All we own are Mopars and we have been wating for years for this Challenger. We came very close to getting a Mustang in 05 but decided to wait for the Challenger. I'm just hoping Ma Mopar makes a smart choice on this one!

When I think of a pentastar, the first thing to come to mind was that little pentastar that was on the lower fender of my "Plymouth" Duster and my "Plymouth" 'Cuda back in the 80's..................

I know this is a far, and I mean FAR reach, but that could be a step toward the return of "Plymouth" and possibly that concept 'Cuda everyone would like to have.

I know, I know,  Just rambling.....and dreaming......sorry.  :swaying:

 :iagree: Me too!

But I guess some people will also remember that pentastar was on more than a few K-cars.  They help to vitalize Chrysler back then and served their purpose.

I think Chrysler can hear us!  The new challengers are going to be great.  The chargers are growing on me too.

If they make challengers available to more than high rollers with reserved spots on a list, and within 4k of the mustangs top and bottom pricing, I will buy one in a heartbeat...if they are sticking to their previous plan with it being a "halo" car, I'd sooner buy a mustang than sit on a list until they decide they want to take my money and "bestow" the car upon me... :'(

:iagree: Even though I'll not be able to own one. The time is right, the car is right, the buying market is ready,.............now just make it "available" to anyone. Remember when............ya walked into a Chrysler Dodge Plymouth dealer and said, "I want to buy a car." And you sat down with a salesman, decided on the model and started adding options? They built it the way you wanted it, that was pretty much the way it went. Now that was fun and it didn't require two jobs either!

I'd love to see affordable Challengers and the such already, but there's bigger issues at hand, folks.

They've already announced that they'll be closing a plant in the US and laying off 5 digits worth of workers...

Naysayers assumed that these new owners were only intending to strip-mine the company and sell off it's pieces at a profit.  They're already taking the first step in that general direction.

So again I'd like a car I can afford, but I'd like much more for ~13 thousand people to keep their jobs in this great country we call home.
