To Fuse or Fusible Link

I'm putting my electrical hat on for the next few weeks, so a bunch of questions are coming up for me.... first off...

Fusible Links.  Mine is in terrible shape and I'm thinking of swapping out the stock 60 amp unit with a 75 amp powermaster unit.  I can't seem to find a suitable replacement that has the stock connector, the year one piece seems way over priced and it would only support a  <60 amp load. 

So can I replace the fusible link with an inline Maxi-Fuse, or ANL fuse, that I can swap out when I upgrade my alternator?
Also, has anyone ever purchase from http://www.sherco-auto.com before?  They seem to have a lot of otherwise difficult to find electrical parts.

Even if the linkage you have is in terrible shape, it still works, doesn't it? Don't go up in ratings if you do swap out, because your wires/connectors may not be able to handle the load. So yes, you can replace the link with some kind of fuse, but DON'T go above 60 amps, if that is what the fuseable linkage is rated at.

 Remember they use a link because it will only burn if the overload remains, a fuse blows at rated curent. I'd stick with the link ,if not you'll be sitting on the side of the road. ONE MANS OPINION.
