The passenger side went in without lifting the engine, you just have to get the car high enough in the air to put them in from under the car.  The drivers side was a bit more challenging, you will have to lift the engine about 2" to fit them in.  I did this myself with no help.  I'm sure it would be easier with another set of hands.  TTI P/N for 1 7/8": TTI440-178C4

Drive the car on ramps, unbolt both motor mounts, use a floor jack with some wood to place under the oil pan and jack it up.  Remove the starter, and slide the headers in place from under he car, replace the starter and bolt up the header.  The higher you get teh car in the air the easier it wil be.

can you remove/put in the starter with the TTI Headers already in??? with mt hedman's you have to slide the starter in the same time as the header a real pain in the but??? when you talk about putting the wood under the oil pan what part of the pan??? it wont crush??? or are you talkig like down the let side of the pan where the bols are to tilt it side ways...

I just put a set of Thorelys from Summit on my 440.  1 3/4". They fit beautifully. They don't hang down. I didn't have to beat them and they were about 300$ cheaper than TTIs.

I dont think Chryco did much to those TTI they put on 4c's cuda.  I talked to him about the design when we were at Carlisle.  He said they fit with really no modification.  He said that they were designed to fit that tight under the car.  Maybe Im missing somthing, this is just what I remember from our conversation at the hotel.

Everyset of headers I've had I had to unbolt the headers to put in a starter.  It would be best if you used a small square of plywood or something similar under the lowest part of the pan.  It will not crush, because the weight of he engine will be spread out over the area of the wood.
