'73 Challenger at Insurance Auction, Sold
« on: August 07, 2007 - 11:31:29 PM »
I took the car to the local swap meet today and sold it. It is in Tucson, my number is 520-661-9819 This car is at a local insurance auction and probably has a salvage title, but might make a good project car for someone. Was a 318 car I beleive "G" code. It has no motor or trans. Both front fenders will need to be replaced. If it is a Tucson car, it will probably be very solid as far as rust. It doesn't have a scheduled auction date yet, so I haven't  had a chance to actually inspect the car. The pics are from the auction's website. I will post more info as it is available.

I have a car '73 with similar damage. From the rear wheelwells back on both sides the quarters are scrapped and dented evenly all the way down and even light damage on the outer edges of the tail panel about an inch in or so.

I knew about the car in the past (Perfect condition and rustfree AZ car) and talked to the owner who had it since new. A nice little old lady that worked at Pennys drove it back and forth to work but she wasn't about to sell

I lost track of it for a while and found it again in an newspaper ad.

It was hit in the drivers fender and had that damage on the back but the guy who got it had already sold the front end and the drivers door because he was parting it out.  I gave him the money started it up and drove 50 miles home on the freeway with my seatbelt on and no sheetmetal at all around me.

Stupid or lucky?   :dunno:

They still haven't set a date for it. I am thinking that it will be this coming week. The sale is on Thursdays. It is hard to say how much it might bring. The sale is open to the public and there is also live internet bidding. If anyone is interested just call me at 520-661-9819

I just looked on IAA'S website couldn't find the car in the Classics section. Or on tomorrows sales list. I thought I'd see what the current pre-bid is up to.  :clueless:
