To me Hank Aaron is still king.
« on: August 08, 2007 - 06:45:37 AM »
In my view Hank Aaron is still the owner of the home run record 755. Bary Bonds hitting 756 is not a legitimate achievement. It is like lining up for a drag race and although your a talented driver with excellent reaction time you used nitrous (steroids) against cars that didn't have it. I know that odds are some of the pitchers were using to. Its a shame that this is even a subject. Just my 2 Cents. So go ahead and let me have it.

There's a likely chance he did take anobolic steroids, but it's not been proved yet. Let the courts do their decisions if and / or when and then slam him. Steroids didn't make him see the ball better. Thats a skill he developed.

Notice that no other users in other sports get this much focus? WWE, Wrestling, Bicycling, weight lifting? All sports with heavy users of steroids.

Barry Bonds is a total piece of sh!t..... I hope he gets hit by a bus today! People who say the roids didnt make him hit the ball any better is ridiculous...no he just pounded it way harder thats all.... Aaron did it with a crappy ball...

What is the cardinal rules these days in baseball... no gambling but you can get away with steroids!!!

I don't need a court Topcat. I have followed Barry since he came in the game. He used to be a base stealer, look at his body type change. He is a horse now.
After the McGwire HR season he came back into spring training like 50 lbs more muscle. Believe me, you can tell when a guy is juicing or has.
His childhood buddy that was in cahoots with Balko, he was then hired by Barry as a strength coach, he then went to jail because he refused to talk. Barry is very wealty and I bet his buddy is taken care of for life because of that. Why wouldn't he talk, topcat?
Are you really believing that roids in cycling isn't as publicized as in baseball? You need to ask Europeans about that. Everytime I hear about cycling I hear the word "doping", not so with baseball. Every other time I here about Barry I ere about roids but it's because all the evidence is there, he has juiced. He even admitted that he "may have taken" suplements not allowed. He made the excuse that someone else was giving him some supplements and he didn't know the ingredients. Who puts stuff in thier body w/o knowing what it is? Not pro-athletes where thier physical fitness means thier job.
Barry juiced!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will be wearing my Hank Aaron 44 jersey around for the rest of the season.

Also, Bonds always had good mechanics but the skinny base stealer didn't have the power. Used roids got the power, quit stealing bases.
Pitcher have used roids alot, not the same stuff as what McGwire, Sosa, Bonds, etc. took. You don't see ptchers that big. There are different kinds of roids that do different things.
Ever had to take it for poison ivy or asthma? There is steroids that rebuild ligaments and help joints (what the pitchers use) and then there is those that build muscle mass.
Roids is not like pot or coke. It does'nt come from one single plant or made only one way. It is engineered in many different ways to do different things.
And on the WWE thing, those fans don't care if the guys juice the industry looks the other way and it's accepted as a fact of life. The "sport" is not really a fine institution that America's past time is. Everybody knows they juice and they don't try to hide it very hard, that's why it isn't publicized there. Until a guy kills his family.

As I said in the first sentence I said it is likely he used Steroids. I have no questions about that. I agree his mass build up was the biggest sign of him indicating he must've used them. But I don't believe in being part of a crowd that says hang him without truly knowing all facts first up front.

I have heard they let him break it too. My guess would be to profit and also if he broke the record it would be extra damming on him. It's almost like setting up a sting. Let him do the dirtiest deed before you bust'em.

Welll many thing s to ponder.....more teams now mean less quality players, so more chances of hitting the ball now. Better equipement (bats and balls) so the ball can be hit further. Better conditioning equipment and knowledge of such means more powerful players. I think AARON did it the old fashioned way. Nobody likes Bonds and that is too bad for the sport. Nobody can take away what AARON did. Yes he lost the record to a piece of poop, but he has class and no one can take that away. Someone referred to this like drag racing....look at the advantage todays drivers have oever yesteryear drivers. Funny yhat MLB and NFL preach about steroids, but only random testing is used.

It's like comparing apples(Hank) to oranges(Barry).

So when you grow apples with the use of steroids they turn into oranges?
They are both man, both athletes. Look at the HR pace of both men, they were pretty equal but Barry was on pace to hit about 630-ish, that is up until the Balko thing. It's shows after that time (when he came to spring training and his teamates were surprised by his girth and nicknamed him Incredible Hulk) he went on an explosive streak.
He wasalways a great hitter but all of a sudden in one off season he became a super-human hitter.
I don't want that stuff in the game I love so much. I have been around enough steroids and baseball (never together though) that I know when a guy is juicing.
