I'm talking pitchers back in Ruths days and before that.

I saw Juan perform on the diamond in person. Leg to the moon before delivery.

Pitchers had more character back then, remember Luis Tiant, Al Hrabosky and (later) Dan Quisenberry?

I don't think anyone can top Mark "the bird" Fydrich, from the Detriot Tigers of around 1976.   :screwy:

You'll hate me more now. Because Willie Mays and Mc Covey were there too playing.

I won't forget that day because it was one of the last days I had spent with my father before he passed away.

I have a McCovey baseball card from way way back. When I was growing up I had no idea he was such a great player because all I heard about was Willie Mays as far as Giants players.

My favorite game was with my paw. My hero Nolan Ryan pitching and the A's (Eckersly, Willie McGee, Canseco, Henderson, Big Mac).
