I was there, I work for DeKalb Napa.  It wasn't stupid, the throttle got stuck and the truck lost control.  Every procaution was taken before hand.  It was a fluke accident. thankfully no one was killed.  You can see me in those videos, the guy in the blue shirt with the khaki shorts on.

Ryan

And I know Ms.White, she is an attention hog, she wasn't even there when the accident occured.

The stupid part was doing a monster truck exhibition on a city street with no barrier between the truck and people.

As you can see, the unexpected can always happen, so there is no such thing as "Every precaution taken".

When these trucks run in an arena, there are officials standing by with remote kill switches that will instantly shut the truck down if even the slightest thing goes wrong. They have to do that so that an out of control vehicle doesn't climb into the stands. Why wasn't that precaution taken?

There was a manual and remote kill switch.  It was killed right after it went up on two wheels.  You hear the engine die after it hits the ground the second time after the throttle cable got stuck.

Vehicles with thousands of horsepower need barriers and distance between them and spectators.Obviously a kill switch did little to help after the truck was already out of control.

Barracades would not have helped, just like how they didn't help in TN.

The people were told to move back, you can see the yellow tape where they were suppose to be back of, but they kept moving forward to get  a better look.

In that case, they should incorporate some type of brake lockup into the kill mechanism, so that all of the brakes lock up, and the truck skids to a halt.

From the video I don't think the remote kill was used when it should have been.  This is why I say that.  You have an experienced driver so that brings in a level of confidence and puts people at ease.  The operator of teh remote kill knew the drivers was experienced so when the truck wheelied, he may have thought it was part of the show, when without a doubt the switch should have been hit at that point.  If an amateur was driving, I'm sure the switch would have been hit, but because he was a good driver, the operator gave him the benfit of the doubt instead of insuring the crowds safety.  It was a fluke accident but one that could have been avoided if the rules were understood and standards set on when to hit the switch (ie sky wheelies and a roaring engine=remote kill)

It was an experienced driver.

It was a fluke accident, the driver has done this at 20 other Napa's around the country this year alone.  And he said 30 the past year.
