I'd say date coded warranty replacement block...lol. That way you can stamp your serial number on it..................

No telling..   I think the chance of finding two cars exactly alike except for the Date-coded or warranty replacement blocks are very slim.  There are many other factors that would determine a value difference than the difference in the two blocks.  Just my old 0.02.....   :cooldancing:

I would say if you are restoring a car that came with that engine then probably a warranty block, if you are building a clone then either but sell the warranty block to someone who has a car that came factory with that engine and does not have the numbers matching block.

I`s say a warranty block would be worth slightly more as that would be correct for a dealer to replace a bad engine under warranty, otherwise it`s just an engine swap for one with similar biuld date out of another car.

Definitely the warranty block IMO. It happened a lot, it's the next best thing to a #'s block, a few Mopars run around that had their #'s block shlt itself and they were given a warranty block by the dealer/factory. No VIN number is better than one with a VIN that isn't yours.  :2cents:

To me it wouldn't make any difference as neither is the original motor.  But I'd bet the warranty block would bring more money.
