Any way to find out if this is the original motor.

My Car has a 318. How can i tell if this is the original 318 or something swapped in. My best guess is that it is original, because the guy i bought it from said so, course he also said it didn't have any rust. After i showed him the rust bubbling under the vinyl, his story changed.

You can seach this forum for "matching numbers" and it should show you where to find the pad with the partial vin number stamped on it.  This should have the year, plant, and the last part of your vin.
