Anyone see the commercial for the new Chrysler warranty?
« on: August 17, 2007 - 12:30:43 PM »
I was watching TV last night, and a Chrysler commercial came on that was listing all of the "Firsts" that Chrysler has been responsible for. Then, it said that the latest "first" is the new Chrysler "Warranty for Life".

Anybody know anything about it?

The other week there was a full page ad in the newspaper . It was about the lifetime warranty and said there would be 20 new car models by 2008.  :dunno:

It wont be covered because of its "musclecar" status... my guess.

We were invited to our dealers "The New Chrysler" party on Wed. night.  That warranty excludes diesels, SRT's, Sprinters, and something else.  It is only to the original purchaser too.  The party was pretty cool.   :2thumbs:

Chesty,

Their FAQ says that the only cars not covered are:

Those used as/for/by police, taxis, limousines, postal delivery, ambulances, rental or government.
And our diesel-engine vehicles.

Nothing in there about Musclecars, but I bet they change their tune as soon as the Challenger comes out.

Our club was invited to the several Dodge and jeep dealers in town to display for this announcement.

Latest commercials are all very cool. the "first muscle car" quote in one of them has the GTO guys panties all in a wad on one of the boards I visit. It actually has sparked a pretty hot debate about cars, engines, marketing, and perception.

I'm sure they'll have a bunch of caveats, like the warranty will be void if you alter the vehicle or miss an oil change, etc.

A friend of mine bought a used truck, and paid $1500 for an extended warranty. His transmission went out ($5600 to fix), and the warranty company told him they wouldn't cover it because he "altered" the vehicle by putting glasspacks on it instead of the stock mufflers. What a crock!

See this is where I love being a Chrysler Tech. I get to prep the new cars for a living. Yep just turn that traction control off and hit it. Had to see what the Crossfires would do when they first came out and then the 5.7 cars and trucks. Next up.....the Challenger!! :ylsuper:
