I finally ventured out the shop doors with my car today. It's not done yet, I still need to mount the hood and install a rear bumper and the chrome tips. But man it sure felt good to try it out on concrete. It hasn't been drove since 1975. I had to tie down the battery, and it's only got 323 sure grip, but when the outboard carbs kicked in around 1800 rpms it went crazy in first. So I tried second and when the carbs kicked in, it broke loose again. Pulls hard in 4th. I called a speed shop today and got a quote of 150 bucks to narrow a dana for me to install. I am going to enjoy cruising in this car. Even the standard steering was simple to turn. I am not comfortable with the 6 way seat and a big steering wheel tho. Something is gonna be changed. My tach seems really lazy. But it worked. So I have a total of 2.5 miles on it now and a grand total of 42,900 miles since new. It's fun bringing an old classic back to life.
