15x10 Mopar Ralley rims will fit!
« on: December 29, 2003 - 05:17:49 AM »
I was skeptical when the salesman at Wheel Vintiques said that a 15x10 Mopar Ralley rim would fit on my 1974 Cuda without moving the springs or altering the body.  He was right, and I was wrong.   I changed from 15x7 Mopar Ralley rims to 15x10's on the back.   The back spacing on the rims is 5 1/2 and the tire size is 275 60 15.   I tried the 295 50 15's and they would not fit without an 1/8 inch spacer to separate the tire from the springs.   I didn't like using a spacer, so I went with the 275 60 15's.    The wheels look massive and really make the car look aggressive while keeping with the traditional Mopar look.

 :o :o :o Yes!!!
Please say you have a side shot. I'm trying to get my car to sit at a nice stance. Maybe these big 15's are my way to go. Thanks.

Nice stance.  8) How's the ride with the wider shoes out back? With 3.23's i imagine it sees the open road often.

The car has a great stance with the new tire/rim combination; however, the car does not handle as well as it did before.   I think that the 275 60 15's on the back are 1 1/2 inches higher than the previous tires.   When I changed the back wheels, I also changed the front wheels which also raised the car up front by an inch.   I had 14x6 Ralley rims on the front.   Now there are 15x7's up front.   In the near future, I will try to lower the car a bit and see what kind of handling improvement occurs, but this won't happen until I rebuild the front end first.

Let me clarify that the handling is not bad with the new setup.  It is just not as good as it was when the car was lower.

I will post some different photos of the car really soon.

The 15x10 mopar ralleys were purchased from Summitt for around $140.00 each.       That does not include trim rings or center caps.      Deep dish trim rings were $30.00 bucks each.      I think that the tires were $ 70.00 bucks each at Pep Boys.       Shipping from Summitt on rims was free when I made the purchase in the middle of December.

Hello All! I have a 1970 Barracuda that I want to run wider tires on. Right now I have the 15x7 wheels. Would I be safe to assume after reading this that the 15x10's will fit my car also without spring mods? I am still going to run 15x7's up front but does anybody have any input on the wheel sizes and what tires (Size and mfg) would look best?? Thanks!
