My rear has sagged.
« on: August 21, 2007 - 08:24:48 AM »
Good morning;

This past weekend I had a chance to park next to a fully restored Challenger R/T, as I walked away from the cars I notice that my car was about 1 1/2 inches lower than his and it got me wondering if my rear end has sagged.  My springs were replaced about 15 years ago and have not seen alot of miles (Maybe 5000 miles).  I'm about to order the XV level 1 kick for this winter's project and it has me wondering what the correct ride height is.  Can any of you measure the wheel well heights (front and rear) to help me determine what is close to stock.    I appreciate the help.

Tony

Yea, there's nothing worse than the dreaded sagging @ss syndrome that most chally's suffer from, but there is a cure.
I put super stock springs in mine to get rid of that.
Unfortunately mine is in pieces right now so I cannot get you any specs.
Sorry man.
Good luck  :cheers:
I'm sure someone here can help  :thumbsup:

Is it possible that the other R/T had the Hemi suspension option?  It raises the rear end and gives the car that jacked-up look as opposed to the level look of the stock suspension.

Unfortunately, it seems the pics were deleted in the thread Katfish posted.  :pullinghair: I would say the lip of the wheel well to the ground would be 24-26" on stock wheels.

Dont worry, XV has it already figured out for you. Different models came with different heights, depending on options, and suspension packages. It is typical for them to sag over time tho. The best way to store a car is by supporting the unibody, and letting the suspension hang. Then it wont sag or flat spot the tires, but may take a ferw miles to settle when you bring it out.
