1970 Barracuda - Big Block with 4 Speed - 28,500
« on: August 21, 2007 - 02:29:49 PM »
I am reposting because I had a buyer fail to come up with the money. Here are pics of my car.  I have priced to sell it quickly.
The car currently has a 383 installed but I have a 440 motor that goes with the car. BOTH motors run well
Power Buldge hood and rear wing. 440 Six Pack Emblems and hood pins...all new.
New BFG Radials w/15" Magnum 500 wheels.
New interior..including new front buckets, rear seat, carpet, headliner and other interior components.. Car was originally an A/C car so all firewall and underdash stuff is still there although I do not have any of the underhood A/C components or lines.
All electrical works well.
IT IS A 4 SPEED and the clutch was replaced a few years ago.
New rear brakes and all new components.
UPGRADED to front disk brakes...11.75 rotors. The car stops and handles very well. Upgraded Master Cylinder and Proportioning valve.
New SS Emergency brakes lines for both sides.
New Upgraded Hemi torsion bars
All NEW front suspension including shocks
New gas tank and sending unit.
New Upgraded Adjustable strut rods.
New Exhaust. Flowmasters and dual 2.5" exhaust from collector back. The exhaust sounds great!!
The grille is nearly perfect and is very rare to find a grill in such good condition.
Originally a California car. Painted FC7 - Plum Crazy Purple approx. 2 years ago. Body is nice. All steel with no bondo. Paint job is nice. Wouldn't take much to make her show quality. Still has Original quarter panels. The truck pan has been replaced and done very nicely. The rest of the floor is in very good condition. The entire underside of the car has been stripped by hand, treated with rust preventative and then undercoated.

Car runs and handles great!  Priced to sell this week. Have clear Texas title ready to go.

Nice looking car. Any shots of the interior, under the hood and inside the trunk?

Couple more pics.  Keep in mind she's kinda dirty and I haven't cleaned her in awhile. She's been in the garage under cover though most of the time.

few more.  Also,  the car currently has a 4 speed with the b-body shifter in it.  All that is needed to convert to a pistol grip is the tail housing (from Passion Performance) and the replacement hump and linkage. I have a new pistol grip shifter and boot that goes with the car.

In one of the pictures you have a pan under the engine, does it leak oil? Great looking car too. Plus you are close (in TX) and house is to close on 9/7.

I had found a couple loose oil pan bolts at one time and tightened them up.  That the only thing I can say.  I imagine you will find a tiny leak or two if you look hard enough but nothing major for sure.  I do change my own oil and used it when doing the brakes and stuff.  The pan was there mostly for storage sake...had no other place to put it.  To be honest I really wasn't that concerned about it because I was going to swap out for a built 440 anyway.

I'd rather not.  Classic cars don't sell we'll on ebay unless they are matching numbers or highly optioned cars.  I have seen it too many times... of course that's just my opinion.

I am suprised I haven't had more interest in my car.  I have had lots of lookers but no serious offers. Anyone have any suggestions as to why?  :feedback: I really need to sell but won't give it away. I think it's well worth the money but of course it is my car...

I really wish I had time to check this one out in person, I talked to you about it a while ago, but haven't had enough time off to even consider going to check it out. Are those seat covers for a 70 cuda or challenger? Something looks different about them.   :clueless:

I guess a few more questions:
Does the car have a fender tag/broadcast sheet
Is that a dash cap or the original dash pad? condition?
Does the car have all seat belts and are they correct?
Does the car have any seatbelts?
Does it have all E brake cables?
Is it a sure grip in the rear? What is the ratio.
Any Sway bars front or back?
Original 4spd car  or converted?

The more info you can supply the more people will be interested, lot of people like myself get tired of calling and asking the same questions...lol. A list of fender tag codes is also helpful to get an idea what the original color was, motor etc.

Here are the answers to your questions.

I guess a few more questions:
Does the car have a fender tag/broadcast sheet?  Answer)  Yes, I have the original broadcast sheet and fender tag.
Is that a dash cap or the original dash pad? condition? It is a dash cap.  The dash pad underneath was cracked in a few places. Looks pretty good though.

Does the car have all seat belts and are they correct? It doesn have seat belts in it now except for the shoulder strap.. I have Cuda seat belts I pulled from a 71 but I haven't put them in. I cleaned them up a bit but wasn't sure I didn't want to send them off to get restored first.
Does the car have any seatbelts? See above.

Does it have all E brake cables? Yes.  It has Ebrake cable on both side. New from Year one.

Is it a sure grip in the rear? What is the ratio.  A) It is NOT a sure grip or the sure grip needs to be replaced.  I thought it was though. I'll look at the broadcast and fender tag again. I can't remember.

Any Sway bars front or back?  No.  Installed the .096 torsion bars and was going to put sway bars on it if I kept.

Original 4spd car  or converted?  It's converted to a 4 speed. Everything works well and just needs the rear tailhousing to put the shifter location in the right place.  I would probably include a pistol grip shifter with the car if the selling price is reasonable.
