Trunk detailing
« on: August 24, 2007 - 12:42:54 AM »
The trunk of my 70 Cuda currently has nothing in it. I would like to detail it out and make it as close to the way it came from the factory as I can. Does anybody have some pictures of the spare tire, jack, etc, and also, where can I buy everything I will need? I think I can get the mat through Year One. The rest I have no idea.
Dave

Here's a trunk pic you don't see very often, the original jack mast felt.

Hey 6pakcuda, I'm working on detailing the trunk right now also. (70 Challenger) Mind if I tag along?

I have the rear valence off and going to add a couple of fresh coats of lacquer to it. Got a new gas tank and fuel line on order which started this little project. Figure might as well get it all done at once. There is a little rust on the trunk floor and while the fuel tank is out, also take care of and problems on the underside. That and some detailing such as repainting of the filler and vapor tubes, spare tire...  :blah:

A mat will eventually need to go in so that info would be great to know.

Thanks 70challrtse. That looks really nice. Where can I get the jack and space saver tire?

Your best bet is probably Ebay; but be careful, sometimes jacks and spares are incorrectly identified.

Wow, 70challrtse that's clean. Your shop as well. Thanks for the great detailed pictures.  :picture:

The bumper hook sits under the tire on a full spare? Do you happen to know the placement on a space saver code car?

I only need a jack base and lug wrench to complete. Anyone know if these are interchangable with other Mopars?

I don't know that to be correct. I believe that it could be that its correct placement is on top of the base.

Depending upon the model and SPD dictates the location of specific trunk hardware as well as which label is applied to the lid.

Thanks, I really enjoyed my Carlisle experience. Now please educate me, what is meant by SPD?

Great pictures 70challrtse, I am saving those for reference when I get to detailing my trunk also!  Of course I need to get a jack and a collapsible spare first.  :naughty:

I am guessing the SPD stands for Scheduled Production Date.
