Engle,

Might be a little agressive?

Engle does make good cams. One thing I have had to find out the hard way is to not skimp on the cam or lifters, it is a crap shoot and who wants to tear their engine back down after a lobe has been wiped or a cheap lifter is ticking? More money now usually means less hassle later.

Summit sells a line of cheap-o cam and lifter kits for $89.  My buddy has had a Summit Cheap-o Chebby 292/509 camshaft in his truck since we were in high school, about 9 years now.  I've used them a couple times without a problem, but they sure as heck ain't a Purple Shaft....

Don,

Engle is a good choice, but I think this is probably 2 sizes too big if he is looking for mild.  :grinyes:

Now you might be looking at something like this to take on StrOkEr.  :stirpot:

Go with the Summit kit.  It's cheap and they have a mild one, with just a bit of lope.  I put one in the 360 in my old truck and it ran great.  Of course that was upgrading from the cam that was in there with 3 wiped lobes!

I think Dons Cuda has the Summit cam SUM K6901. I think it performs well for a mild stock cam. As far as durrability, Well....Don can vouch for how it competes.

I have the Comp Cams XE268 cam in my 360 and it works well: good idle, good power and enough vacuum for power brakes.  My complete engine specs are on my website at www.mikes73.com.

I use a lot of the Engle grinds , K56 is the most often used for typical street engines

Its a good cam, I like the power range of the engine there is a LOT of pull through out!  Zippy engine it is.
