    I hope they get all of the $22 Mil back!

    For those of you who are unaware, dog fighting is a very BIG ghetto "sport". All tho I'm sure it's in other aera's too! Where do you think half of missing dogs end up??? This is just sick IMO. 

    Again this year I have had a deceased loser dumped within 100 yards of the front door of my shop. Had 2 last year.  :puke:

    I could go on and tell some of the local stories but I won't. I know there's alot of "dog people" on this site. Keep an eye out, they use anybreed for training the pits!

    I must admit I hate hearing them stories and I hope they set an example with him..... We take in rescue dogs and hold them till the kennel we work with finds them a home...so when I see this it really upsets me.

    Watching the new today and it looks like rapper DMX's house was searched and like 15 Pitbulls were found starving to death...along with drugs etc...i'm guess another dog fighting ring being unfolded as we speak.

    Forgive me for being a little dense here buttttt I have no TV! what in the heck are you guys talking about! I guess maybe I live under a rock! actually I have been playing father babysitter all summer! he has been diagnosed with alheimers! and someone needs to be with him 24/7 and my mother isn't up for the task! so that leaves me!! so if you would please inlighten me I would be oh so greatful !!! thanks!!

    Vick has a house that supposedly he didnt visit very often that his cousin or something was living in.  Authorities found out that there was illegal dog fighting going on there.  At first he played dumb, but now he is pleading guilty to knowing about it, but he supposedly didnt bet, so he says.  Now the Falcons are trying to get back some $22 mil because he broke contract negotiations. 

    The story in a nutshell, I hope its correct, thats how I'm getting it.   :dunno:

    Thanks 71BB but after I posted my stupidity I googled "Michael Vick" and boy did I get an EYE FULL!! here is the link if anyone cares to read it!! www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/07/17/sportsline/main3067633.shtml It was VERY interesting!! I too am a Dog lover and this story made me SICK!!

    Pit bulls can be pretty ferocius. I have grown up around Blue heelers and i have yet to see any dog (or person) make these bad boys back down. Is the humane society putting these dogs to sleep? I can't imagine them being adopted out because of their training. It justs goes to show how people just can't get enough once they taste the money. If he would have just spent his money on mopars, he would have been much better off.

    You know I bet they are going to have to! because the would take an enornous amount of rehabilitation to be able to be a family dog again! if I had children I DON'T think I would want one of these as a pet! and just for myself I don't think I would want one! just think of the liability! my neighbor had a pitbull and he wasn't fight trained and one day they had him sitting on the lawn and a german shepherd walked down the street and stepped on their lawn and the pitbull tore the shepherd up and killed it! and HE was a loved family pet! just think what one of these trained killers would do? WOW! poor dogs! doomed to death!!

    Most shelters will euthenize(sp?) any dog that has had exposure to even a small amount of fighting for the safety of anyone looking to adopt a dog.
    Anyone believe Vick`s apology-is he really sorry or do you think it`s just a sympathy act for a lighter sentence?

    I agree totally. Unfortunately the dogs get put down if they are exposed to fighting. I don't believe Vick's apollogy was anything more than a plea for a lighter sentence.   :dupe:

    My wife loves/hates wathcing Animal Cops on tv as the cops do thier best to help the animals but there`s lot of cruelty and dog fighting-ecspecially in cities/low income areas.
    I would like to think Vick is truely sorry but my jaded side thinks it`s just a feeble attempt to get out of some jail time.   :villagers:

    Since he's a rich celebrity, he'll probably just get 82 minutes in jail, like Nicole Richy. Only regular people get punished.

    The only thing that piece of blankity blank blank is sorry about is the fact that he got caught.  Not once during his public apology did he mention that he was sorry for hurting a dog, or killing a dog.  He was sorry for being a bad role model to children, etc. etc.  He just makes me sick and makes me wish for an eye for an eye sentence.  I could go on all night, but I will spare all of you!
