Anyone install a YearOne dash?
« on: August 26, 2007 - 06:56:55 AM »
I was reading a thread about aftermarket dash pads and how they miss the mark. I was wondering if anyone had problems with the fit and finish of the YearOne dash pad. I bought one because I did not care if it had a plastic frame or steel and because it was in stock and somewhat cheaper. Looks good to me sitting on the shelf in a closet and I am hoping it fits nice when I install it  :dunno:  :feedback:

Jackie's needed some filing around the AC vents, but it looks good. Yes, the frame is abs plastic.

Me too.  :grinyes:

The genious that removed my AC parts had NO idea what heat from those headers could throw off at 70 MPH on the Hiway for an hour or so.   :22yikes:  Even being ceramic coated I can tell a BIG difference between 55MPH, and 70.

I hope it is easier than removing one. Seriously, once you know where all the nuts are it is not too bad but finding all 11 of them is a pain.

  :iagree:  :iagree:  :iagree:

I thought there were 13, not including the 2 screws on each end, but I agree with you!!  :bricks1:

Are you just wanting to remove the dashpad, or the whole dash assembly? I can give you a step by step process if you are just removing the dashpad.   :pullinghair:

The dash pad is removed, I did that this last spring but I am probably going to pull the rest of the dash just to make it easier to assemble everything. I like the idea of being able to install it as one unit with everything already attached.

Just checking if you still want photos of a YO dash.
I bought one and never used it for various issues. Let me know if still interested why.
Cheers.

Here is mine installed. There was a little modification required to get the plastic trim to fit but otherwise no complaints.
