Rear Main Seal Leak (Updated)
« on: August 26, 2007 - 01:37:16 PM »
Well it got me thinking again since I changed my oil and never fired up the motor I could figure out how new clear oil dripped overnight down the rear main??? so I took off the dust shield where oil accumulates and I couldnt see any oil running down crank or flexplate and I wiped inside the tranny and no oil??? after closer inspection on the Chenowith racing Main Girdle I had installed I see what is oil seeping out of the sides of it back there... also the gaskets look a little wet as well...they dont give you a gasket for the girdle and have to use some sort of gasket maker in the instructions and use a gasket from the pan to girdle....Im gonna try some of that gasket sealer stuff first you put in the oil...it has to be it....it is not a bad leak but enough to make me fix it  :pullinghair:....I would had to lose the race to cuda guy from having to let off the throttle from oil slippage  :burnout:
