The smell of paint is a wonderful thing.  However my wife would strongly disagree.  :swear: I had the entire garage covered with plastic walls, taped to the floor and stappled to the ceiling. Exhausting fans sucking outside and yet it seems to find its way into the house. Oh well, a night out to dinner and a movie always seems to make up for a bit of  smell in the house.

Paint looks great! My wife's dad own a body shop for 30 years, all those years as a kid being around the body shop she acquired a liking to the smell of a freshly painted car!  Sometimes it is better to be lucky I suppose. :)

The guys at work think it looks like John Deere green.     I should have went to the local John Deere dealership and had them sponsor me with a free gallon of paint.  :roflsmiley:

I have been a real slacker at keeping this updated. I am not very good at going back and updating where i left off. so i will give it to you as where i am currently.  I am waiting for weatherstrip and bumpers, etc so that i can get doors, front fenders and hood lined up. I have my vinyl top in hand now and am trying to get the creases flattenned out (aint easy). I am trying to figure out how to do some trim repair and waiting for all the trim attachment clips, etc. I will probably attack alignmebt first, weatherstripping, and vinyl later as it warms up some more.
If anybody has some good ideas for getting rid of the creases, please chime in. I really could use some pointers and some positives. Nothing like trying to line up panels that really gets ya down. And i think maybe this vinyl top may be pushing me over the edge as well, but thats what i get for being so cheap.    :walkaway:

A nice warm day in the sun should help a lot. I think they use a steamer at the upholstery shop.
I hear the panel thing.  :pullinghair: Keep at it It's looking great and the more you do your self the more pride you can take in it.  :grinyes: I'm trying to figure out the upholstery thing my self.  :clueless:

:2thumbs:   :droolingbounce: AWESOME job on your ride, car is gonna be eye candy for sure. well done.it always amaze's me at what the members here acomplish on their own and how great these ars come out.makes me want to get back working on mine again and i can see where you were coming from about painting your car.although i did my old beretta years ago i don't think i would trust myself to paint my chally when the time comes.way to much work in getting the body right for me to screw up the final paint.  think i'll leave that to the professionals.plus i know a couple painters,at least i better cause i been selling collision parts in the auto business four 27 yrs.
again great job and keep it up,you come a very long way and looks awesome/

Started glueing down the vinyl. Started with the middle, right down the center line. Got that laid out and stuck down so it wouldn't move, and then started moving out on the passenger side. This stuff isn't too bad to work with. My biggest problem is me, and my lack of patience. I need to learn to give the glue its proper cure time instead of rushing it.
