    Here is my next project. 2 lower patch panels and a marker light cut out. I am converting my side marker lights over to the 70-71 style. Real simple with these cut outs. But before i can get started on those, i have a few honey do projects to clear up. Had to tile the kitchen and dining area this winter, and now i just have to finish up the trim around the base. :blah:

    Wow, our cars are definitely twins. Rust in the same spots, just opposite sides. I only had to replace my quarter because it was so smashed.

    Excellent advice on the roof skin. I can see the same problem with the one I currently have that I have been fabbing on. I do not want to puddle weld, just because I forsee tons of cleanup.

    Makes me think for sure.

    I believe that the fabrication of new roof skins was definently a prayer answered. I darn near gave up and sold my car, because of the amount of patching my roof needed.  :bigsmile:

    It never ceases to amaze me how we can replace nearly every single panel without even flinching.

    This site shows how dedicated and inspiring people really are.

    Me, I like  agood "Challenge". At least your car did not look like it got hit with the ugly stick.
    Mine got hit with the whole tree.

    I have see some of your pics, from your posts, and you definenlty have had a lot of experience in replacing sheet metal. :eek4: I have been watching about a half dozen other members also, and their resto's, and that is what has inspired and helped me in the work i have done so far on my car. Thankyou all. I too hope to be in paint by Sept., otherwise it will have to wait untill Dec.  :cheers:

    Just keep going on it your making great progress!There is a lot of stuff that I have never done before so I just ask members for help or I guess and start cutting and welding and hope for the best!  :lol:  Chuck

    Yeah that is me to the "T". I never read instructions, i just dive right in hoping to figure it out as i go. I should get better at asking questions before i do something rather than after. that is why i have to redo my driver side floor pan. :pullinghair: I should have paid more attention to underneath. I have a gap of more than a 1/2 between floor pan and the frame, and i can't get it to pull down to it. So out comes the spot weld cutter and cross my fingers that i can fix it without having to buy another pan. :bricks1:

    I ran a few screws into my floor to my frame to hold it down along with a ton of clamps it worked pretty good. Good luck.  :2thumbs:

    Where did you get the patch for the front part of the quarter?  Any more progress yet?

    Hmm, thanks for the infor on the bad fit.  I may just fit a patch to the small hole(s) I have.  I have to media blast the area to see how bad it is.  I need the area about an inch from the opening.

    This was the rocker I got from Herb's it wasn't even close.They were nice and returned the part without a problem.

    We ran into the same problem with the rockers from YO. We ended up cutting it and making it work.

    The people at Herbs were great to talk to and work with. I wish i had returned the patch panel to them, but i couldn't find another on to go with. If you don't have to replace a large area, i would use their panel and just cut out the peice you need.
