That is killer news that they are actually mounting the motor in the k-frame.  Can't wait to see the finished product!

Update: They've been having problems with the ECUs, not a major but the manufacture is taking a little longer than expected. Good thing it's not engine related, or internal. Tim has been getting in contact so I saved the last photos, here's what he said + photos. Nothing much but shlt, I'm excited!

Hi Carl, here are a few pictures with the shaker base installed. When the outside shaker seal plate and ring are installed, it will virtually cover the complete top of the engine hiding everything. I am going to put your factory correct 70-71 covers on today, and see just how "stock" we can make your engine appear. The camera flash makes the engine appear more orange than it actually is.

We were in contact with David at Fast yesterday. It sounds like they pulled all the ECU’s, as they seem to all have the no idle speed motor drive problem. It’s a small glitch in their software, but it must be repaired carefully, so as not to affect another circuit. You might know we would be the ones to uncover this problem. I wonder how many other ECU’s have been sold and are in use today with this same problem. It’s one of those things that can be worked around mechanically, but you are paying a premium for EFI, and it will be right on leaving.

I have been looking over your engine cosmetically, and making a few changes to the fuel lines etc to hide more of the injection components. I will take some pictures today, and tell me what you think. One part that stands out from stock like a sore thumb is the MSD distributor. I would like to modify a stock appearing Mopar unit for EFI, and see what it looks like. Other than the braided fuel return line, really nothing else would show. I will mock one up and take a picture of that also. The MSD is tall, and requires the shaker base to be trimmed slightly anyway. I will get back with the shipper and see about those quotes. Talk to you later, Tim @FHO

I also told him my engine will need to be stored away for 5-6 months is this OK for the engine to sit around like that already been run in etc. I knew it would be but with an engine like this and the meals I've had to skip, asking questions is the opposite to dumb. He said: "Storage is not a problem. We can “fog” the engine down before pulling it off the dyno. That way it will store pretty well indefinitely. Sorry on the delivery date but we didn’t expect the ECU problems". Tim's the man, been a great help and always has time to speak or email. There are several other emails between my last update but this shows photos & better progress. I will update more as I know more for those who are interested.

Thanks guys, I'm happy (understatement). As Tim said, quite a bit to do yet, detailing and making it as stock as possible to the engine bay viewer which is exactly how I like my cars. If I have to go modern on any part then it has to be non-visible or as close to as humanly possible to me and anyone viewing the car. Now that it's in the detail stage I'm really starting to get restless and the grins getting bigger. I kind of "forgot" about it a few weeks back, I guess it's just a resto lull type thing but this has perked me up for sure. Not long now.  :icon16:

Funny, I'm in sort of a similar situation. Not much progress waiting for some gilled fenders before we can paint and move forward. As soon as I see some assembly and paint, I will get all amped again. :jumping:

That car is going to be awesome Carl.

Thanks Will. I've decided to put Dad's car into the paint/body shop first. He's "getting on" (in the nicest way) and I'd really like him to get to enjoy this car so I told the resto shop instead of mine going in we'll get Dad's in for body work and paint then mine will go in straight after. So, mine won't start until around July/August next year at the earliest. :crying: Sucks for sure but I feel good for Dad, plus, I get to save money to do the resto. Dad was over the moon when I told him. :grinyes: His 'Cuda will go in Feb next year. Luckily Lucy & my new "secret" toy will keep me occupied.

Harms - Thanks Scott! Tim is indeed one of the best in the business. Walks on water as far as I've experience and heard. He even walks on water at Moparts, that in itself is quiet an achievement. As you can see from the build my car isn't 100% correct which is why I choose a "non correct" hood for this 'Cuda. Although Tim will do his best to make it appear factory, it will still have items which are "not correct" so if people spot the engine and it's modern mods they may also spot the hoods non correct points as well (if any?, has anyone come to this conclusion yet?) so you can see why correctness wasn't a major for me, just quality/fit. That's all I was trying to say.  :)

Cheers,
Carl

UGH! Brutal!

But I can't feel too much sympathy. At least you have another E body to drive in the time being. I've got my 4 door Acura.  :roflsmiley:

Very nice motor! But the fuel injectors where a sore thumb. Maybe some shrinkhose would cure it?

Thanks everyone. Will lol All good mate, beats walking don't it?  :2thumbs:

Not sure what you mean Jvike?  :dunno: "sore thumb" how do you mean? I think for the car I'm building and the cubes I'm running EFI was the only option. Expensive yes but this car (like all) is a 100% daily driver. No show pony. :grinno:
