Madeline's beast heart arrived today. Paid customs and taxes yesterday and she's safely in the garage. Man, I'm over the bloody moon and that's putting it mildly lol absolutely f#%ken awesome.

I had some guys from the shop come help me and just as well, it was heavy and awkward. Two crates, one for the engine and shaker set up the other with exhaust and other misc engine related parts. Had to walk it 50 metres up the drive, not fun. Anyhow, we got it down safely and I popped the crate lids off and just perved for a good 15 minutes lol, no joke.

The 'Cuda should star it's build sooner than expected, much sooner. Hopefully within 5-6 weeks we'll get the engine, stiffening kit, trans, diff and suspension steel parts all lined up, then strip the car, acid dip, body work and her new black paint job. From there it's going to be very fast and down hill. Everything is new and ready to go.

Exciting times indeed for a young Mopar lover like myself.
I'll try to get the DVD dyno on here later on.

DYNO RESULTS

Engine HP = 660.0hp (492.1kw) @ 5,700rpm
Engine Torque = 632.7lb-ft @ 4,700rpm

Est Rear Wheel HP = 561rwhp
Est Rear Wheel KW = 420rwkw
Est Rear Wheel Torque = 537.8rwT

Here's a link to mopar muscle that dyno'd a stock 426 crate engine. They Changed intake, carb, and cam along the way. They got almost 600 H.P. out of it. I'm looking to get 650+ h.p. out of my 482, aluminum heads, roller cam & cross-ram. The engine they tested was only 9 to 1 comp.. Mine is 10.5 to 1. SUPER LOOKING SET-UP Carl !! I just don't know if the figures jive. You know you lose about 33% from your engine H.P. to your rear wheel H.P.. Thanks mate, not sure if your read the thread or been following but I asked for this engine to be as mild as possible, almost to the stage of "detuning" it as it's for a street car. This engine is a 950hp if wanted lol. I know in the future I have tonnes of grunt available but it's pointless building that amount for a 100% street driven Mopar. I'm very happy with it, would have liked less, I originally asked for just over 600hp (610-615) but you can't tame an engine like this.

The reason I went for the big boy was if they re did crate engines from Mopar the 528 would be replaced by the 540, much better engine, this is Tim at FHO saying this, not me but if anyone would know, he would. Plus it's a bit of bragging right I guess, I'd be lying if I said other wise and lastly it makes big hp without struggling making it a fantastic street combo hence the low rpm range we decided on It makes it all down low.

Interestin how the dyno sheet they stopped pulling at 5700... o did you just make it that way???

We made it that way with the goals I had in mind. A 100% street monster. It was built to red line at around 6,000rpm. We're going to set the rev limiter around 6,100rpm. As I said, anything higher to me (and Tim) is a waste on the street. This engine makes the power from 0-max rpm, no mucking around or over the top rpm levels. It's a torque engine. I'm happy as a pig in shlt.

I just wonder why you built an engine like this when you could have built one like mine for less and had all the H.P. you want or needed. We both are building drivers, not drag racers. It's all good mate!  :grinyes: Just curious. To each his own. Light weight 540 aluminum body, not available with 426s etc, same weight as a small block.
Better streetability It doesn't have to struggle, bump around or heat up to make hp like a warm/worked 426/472.
Bigger Cube Hemi Bragging rights, "if" the conversation should arise. + Cool factor.
472 were too small, If I didn't go the legend (426 Hemi), I'd go big, no "in between".
528 isn't as good as the 540ci block.
Much more hp there if wanted.

For me, far too many reasons not to. This is my first and last "oldschool design" Hemi so I wanted to do it once, do it right. I know if I ever want to get some serious hp (0ver 1,000hp) then this engine can do that.

I haven't kept up on this. So you have an aluminum block? SWEET!! I don't have the bucks for that, but power to ya! I'm OLD SCHOOL, and they didn't offer aluminum blocks in my day from the factory. I want to keep the challey as close to original as possible with the max. amount of H.P. Take care, Dave

You're like me mate, ask anyone here, I love factory appearing cars that hide the modern upgrades. Factory is good but is also 38+ years old so where possible I like to improve and update while hiding it. I like people to view the exteior and interior and not until the really, really look hard they spot the upgrades and craftsmanship.

Yup, I wouldn't really enjoy a front heavy Hemi, just my tastes so alloy was the way. No one can tell that it's alloy, that's the beauty. ;) I also went with a stock look, as best as we could do to have that stock look. A real sleeper engine, 426? 472? 528? Who knows, they won't. :grinno:

But we do...And word travels fast. :biggrin: lol  The engine looks very nice and rather "stockish", if you can even call it that.  Bottom line: It's a monster that will definitely pull its own when needed. :2thumbs:

You think like I do. When I finally get the dough to build my stroker motor and if I decide to make it a B block instead of RB I will most definitely be putting 383 callouts on the R/T hood. I like the thought of a strong 470-500 c.i. motor that is dressed for all the world like a standard 383 4 barrel  :naughty:

Unfortunately no I don't but I will see if I can obtain them. On the listed invoice it reads as far as cams go:

Eagle 4.250" 2.20" Stroke Race Hemi Crank
Custom Hydraulic Special Order Camshaft
Hemi Hydraulic Lifter Set
Race Hardened Pushrods
FHO Custom Forged Lightweight Pistons

The list is huge but that's as close as it gets to listing the actual durations etc.  :cheers:
