MY BARRACUDA ARRIVED HERE IN AUSTRALIA
« on: August 27, 2007 - 07:11:55 AM »
My baby finally arrived here in Australia three weeks ago  :woohoo:.  Man what a long wait it has been, I purchased the car last November and the guy I purchased it from owns a resto shop and swapped over some parts for me (hood, grille, tail end, front fenders) as you can see in the pics below, but it took him forever, and I mean forever.  Anyway to cut a long story short it's a one owner 73 Barracuda B5 blue 318 auto floor console that has been sitting in a barn for 17 years and I'm doing a restomod to a 70 Cuda.  I tried to fit as many parts as I could in the car to save on shipping (ie quarter panels, trunk floors and wheel wells) I've got a hell of a lot of work to do  :working: and I'll need to source heaps of parts which is kind of hard when you're so far away from the action!! (LOL). BTW is anyone selling 70 side markers and/or front parking light lenses?

I'll keep you guys updated on progress when I can.
Cheers Con

Congrats and well done for going and getting it yourself. I'm on the same boat as you and pick mine up tomorrow. I can't wait so know how excited you are to have yours in your hands. Nerve racking and stressful times have been finally put to bed, well done and don't forget to keep us posted on your progress with regular updates.

Yup but this is my first, was lucky enough to find the other two locally here in New Zealand. Searched/found, had viewed, purchased and got delivered a 71 Cuda a few months back. A long way to go as we're going to strip and restore/custom the car somewhat, will be 90% stock appearing once complete. Hopefully completed by 1/2009.

Once again congrats on the score, definitely the way to go getting it yourself, save good $$$ and get exactly what you want not having to "live" off the "scraps" you get down under. Most are good down here don't get me wrong but you are definitely restricted with what you can buy, where-as buying direct from the motherland it's open market!

My Cuda, Madeline, heaps more photos and info here if you can be stuffed looking!

OMG Clown, the world is just too small man!!!  That's just insane, I wish I had the bumper guards as well, do you know if they fit on a 73 bumper or do I need to change the whole bumper?   I'm still blown away that my parts are from you, that's just crazy!!

B/E & A sells the side marker lights though you will have a hard time fitting them in your car unless you are replacing the fenders and quarters with 70 ones, or you are grafting in the recess areas in your panels.
