Bush motorcade claims the life of another officer!
« on: August 27, 2007 - 09:58:34 PM »
Buddy of mine on the Rio Rancho N.M. PD just called me and told me about this. There is no reason for this, how much longer will the politicians' pomp and circumstance be allowed to go on endangering the lives of officers? This crap just makes me sick.  :swear:  :stomp:
And then in the article the Rio Rancho PD spokesman says "It means a lot for the president to take time out of his busy schedule and call us to express his deepest sympathy." THAT has GOT to be the most blatant case of BUTT KISSING I've ever seen in my life! :puke:

Looks like a traffic accident, as far as danger I bet the roads are alot safer during a presidential procession than a typical funeral procession? I think this was just an unfortunate accident, my condolences to the family. No reason can justify the loss of a good person's life before someone is ready to go. I work right next to Love Field in Dallas which is where Airforce one comes in. Everytime the president comes in all the surrounding roads are blocked off in the interest of safety, slight inconvenience in the name of national security. I do agree all the trips to kiss babies are probably unnecessary especially at what it costs us taxpayers for all the security of the pres and his extensive entourage.

392,

Sorry but I don't get your beef.  The officer had an accident and died from his injuries, all while doing his job.  The president did the decent thing and expressed his sympathies.

My dog crapped in the yard. Guess I should blame that on Bush too.

It was an accident. It WASN'T BUSH'S FAULT!

Horrible thing to have happened but I do not see where Bush was responsible. It just says he went off the road. My condolences to the family. Nice to see a fellow New Mexican on here though. I was born in Deming.

Maybe if Bust wasn't president your dog wouldn't have crapped in the yard?  Ever thought about that?   :dunno:

Not to be harsh, but WHY did he go off the road?  Did Bush's car push him off the road?  Did some nut job come running out and he had to swerve to miss?  Not all the facts are here.

I don't personally blame President Bush, it's the manner these motorcades are being done that I have a problem with. When it costs the lives of 2 officers in less than a year then something needs to be changed. Maybe that's the responsibility of the Secret Service? I personally think very highly of the president, but I also think highly of every fellow officer in this country.

Also, the barb about the president calling to express his condolences wasn't direct at Bush either, but at the Rio Rancho PD Public Information Officer who fell allover himself expressing how great it was that Bush took time out of his busy schedule to call!

I`m sure most officers feel it a privlage to be in the President`s motorcade but IF the way they operate is causing these accidents then the Secret Service or whoever plans them out should look into it.
