The pollitically correct term to use is "Recreation". The use of "clone" is considered negative in todays spotlight. :2thumbs:

:pullinghair: Don't like that term.think about it,if it's a fake 440 six pack, which say the car has in it,why would it be a fake.for example i saw at car craft nationals a few years back dart g/t with a 318 in it.i look over at it and it had a vipor intake and valave covers modified to look like a complete vipor engine in it.THATS WHAT I CALL FAKE.  :stirpot:  :poopoke: Got a feeling this thread may go on for a while.

I feel the term "fake" defines it best.          Vipor is spelled Viper. :poopoke:

Fake implies an attempt to deceive while tribute/recreation does not.

What about all of the cars that came from the factory with the wrong badging on them?  I know I worked at a CPD dealership in the 70's I saw it and fixed some of them while working at the dealership.  Are they fake?  What about the cars that came from the factory with things on them that was not on the build sheet?   I saw those also.  I bought a real 1970 Cuda 440 sixpack that had 383 on the hood.  What about that?
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development
