1972-1974 E-Body Shaker Cars
« on: August 29, 2007 - 10:45:41 PM »

Got a PM from Don asking for some photos of 1972-74 E-Bodies with Shaker hood set ups. I only have a couple so if anyone has some please post them up. It's a good topic, with these new affordable repro hoods about to hit the market it may give some of you guys who never thought about it a serious chance to put one on your baby.

Previously the cost has turned me away. Lately all I see is shakers. They have always been cool on the 70 and 71's. havn't seen too many on the round taillight cars. It just looks out of place without the older grilles.  I like them the most on the 71's.

:iagree:  Seems like everyone wants one.

It just looks out of place without the older grilles.

:iagree:  Just doesn't quite look right.

But, to each their own.   :grinyes:

I quite like them myself. I don't think they look out of place but you're right, to each his/her own. I think it looks out of place to you guys because you're Mopar enthustaists a.k.a Mopar nuts lol. Show a regualr Joe these photos and they wouldn't know any better. If you look past what you know is "incorrect" you will also see that they don't look out of place. Correct, no. Outta place? Depends how you look at it.  ;)

Wow, is that a special off road edition? That one has better ground clearance than a subaru 4 wd.

To be honest guys I have always loved the shaker cars.  The first cuda I ever saw in a magizine was a 1970 red HT with black int & hockey and a red shaker!  The red shaker cars were a few of the first shakers sent off.  I think it was a paint issue is why they went with black and argent.  But ever since then I have loved shaker cars.  Thanks for the pics and the thread guys!  Keep em coming.

I would not mind if I had a shaker on mine,
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

I would be interested in the shaker hood if I could see just how much they shake... If it shakes enough I would like it... Does anyone have any videos that clearly show how much they actually move?
