A LITTLE LATE
« on: September 01, 2007 - 01:36:01 PM »
well apparantly i registered on this site a little over a year ago...
and i didnt even introduce my self...
i am a newb to this site but no to mopars ..
i have several .. 1970 a-100, 1970 w-300 crew cab,1964 barracuda,1969 dart 440,1978 class c motor home (also 440)and a 440 powered 1977 international scout.. along with several other non mopars..
but the one that qualifys me for this site is a 1974 challenger non rallye 318 car that i bought in 1994 when i was still in high school for $700..
it was all original new mexico car( it does still have the original paint and almost no rust (it has a quarter sized hole in the drivers quarter and ther must be some around the rear window because when it rains the trunk gets wet)) i know its no 70 hemi car but im not interested in having a car that is to valuable to drive any way. this car has been a daily driver since new and is about to be torn down for the freshening it deserves.. i am swapping engines (yes to a 440, surprise.. :eek7:) and pulling all the glass etc to make a decent paint job.. no im not doing a frame off because i dont have the space nor the patience..
i already have the rallye hood and am looking for some cheap rallye side scoops.. i was thinking of putting a t/a spoiler on it even though it is not correct for the year... what are your thoughts and if i do should i paint it body color or satin black?? :feedback:
any way thanks for listening to my ramblings ..
i know mopar is an addiction so some of you probably know me from some of the other sites, my sceen name is the same on every one of them
talk at you later

THE DART IS SCARY IT ONLY REALLY MOVES WITH THE SLICKS AND I HAVE TO RUN LOW PRESSURE SO GETTING OUT OF IT AT THE BIG END TRYS TO GET LOOSE ON ME ... IT IS FAST TO ME BUT ONLY RUNS 11.20S ON THE MOTOR ( I HAVENT HAD THE NERVE TO PUT THE NITROUS TO IT YET)
NO PICS IM A COMPUTER RETARD AND WHEN THINGS DONT GO MY WAY I JUST QUIT AND WORK ON THINGS I KNOW EVENTUALLY I WILL FIGURE IT OUT AND GET SOME PICS BUT MY CARS ARENT MUCH TO LOOK AT ANYWAY..

Sounds like we have very similar cars and car history, other than mine does have a little rust. I am taking it clear down, because i never want to do it again. Takes a lot of time and i am running out of places to put all the stuff. I even have glass under my bed. Good luck with your restor. :working:

Welcome to the site and sounds like you have a love for the Chrysler 440 engines. I can't say I blame you as they have tons of power and torque. Post some pictures when you get it all figured out and keep us posted on your progress with the Challenger.
