Speed Pro makes a forged flat top piston that will get you ion the mid 9 : 1 range depending which thickness head gasket you use , I do not have the part # handy right now

Your combo sounds fine. You may want to mill the heads a bit to reduce the 88cc volume

That is a big cam for a 383, I have the same one in my 440 and it likes a 2800 stall and 3.55 or 3.91's. With the 383 you need a higher stall speed than 2800 or it might be pretty sluggish.
70 Cuda, 7.0L Gen-III Hemi, Viper T56 w/9310 gearset, 3.91's, Megasquirt MS3x v3.57, Innovate wideband, Firm Feel upper arms, torsion bars, springs and strut rods, QA1 DA shocks. I did everything on this car except the fancy paint stuff and I drive it...and I can't seem to stop messing with it....
