Will this work? 318 throttle bracketry on 383? added pics.

383 I bought had all the peripherals missing so I'm going to try my 318 throttle/kickdown bracketry on this engine (383 with 383 Torker manifold and Holley 4BBl carb).  I've had to modify the mounting holes on the bracket as it is narrower than the existing manifold bolts, and on a test fit it looks close and the kickdown even looks to be in the right place.  Anyone done this?  Will I have any problems?  Thought I'd ask first before torquing it into place.

with a welder anything can be made to work , if you have it close use it , you may need to lengthen the kickdown top link to get the adjustment correct though

Some pics, appears to be working but still need to attach kickdown to see if it all lines up.

You may need to install a bolt in the slide to force the kcikdown all the way back @ WOT

Ok, with the linkages connected, the geometry is obviously getting pretty poor.  The 318 kickdown linkage is a bit short and the whole thing then leans towards the firewall.  There is travel here though and it does move the kickdown lever? on the transmission before the linkage bottoms out but I'm not familiar with how the kickdown mechanism works to judge whether this (just under an inch of rearward travel as it stands) is enough?  I can probably get extensions or new links fabricated (will also look into trying to find a BB setup locally) but if I knew how much travel it took to activate the kickdown, then I would have a basis to work from.  Thanks, Mark.

as I said before with the throttle wide open the kickdown should be pushed all the way back , you should also have a sprint ot pull the linkage forward , the 3 piece system has treaded rods that can be lengthened , the 1 piece has a slide held with a 1/2 inch bolt that can be moved down at the lever on the trans to extend the linkage as well
