Heads Up - Someone Posing As Me
« on: September 02, 2007 - 08:44:04 PM »

Just a heads up, I received an email from my Mum this morning saying that she had a work colleagues partner asking if I had been sending full front nudity photos to his daughter. He said it sure doesn't sound like Carl but he has a photo of his Challenger and that it was definitely mine. Anyhow, apparently this unknown guy had somehow taken a photo of Lucy at the resto shop and posted it on the website "nzdating.co.nz" said he had 3 cars, lived in Wellington etc. So out of share luck, one of the girls he managed to chat with online and send these nude photos to knows Lucy and I and informed her Dad who in turn knows my Mum. This joker was sending full frontal nude shots to this girl hence her Dads reaction and email to my Mum.

So I called up the resto shop as they don't allow anyone to take photos of customers cars, the bosses' words were basically: "WTF!?! how #$%&* weird?! Just can't explain it". I knew from the profile that I had never taken that shot and that it wasn't just a side on, he got up on a chair or something to take it. So, Dave asked around and remembered that a new ACC work experience guy started 3 weeks ago, he wasn't all there in the head so Dave took him on for some work experience and to give him some time back in the work force. But, Dave remembered that the guys at work talked about how this new temp guy was always on about how he was on nzdating and how he hooked chicks. So, basically, the mystery was solved. He took a photo of Lucy during work, posted it on the net and used what he knew about me to complete his little game.

So, the ACC consultant was called and Mum wanted to come along and we confronted the guy who admitted immediately. We sat him down at the resto shops PC and got him to delete the photo of Lucy and asked for an explanation. I warned him twice that if I see my car again anywhere it wouldn't be nice for him and that he'd be pretty sorry. I told him he better delete the photos at home on his PC & digital camera. His reason was it was a nice car so he wanted to use it and the rest of his profile was just coincidentally along the lines of a description fitting me lol, he didn't think it would cause this much hassle (in a soft thingy smug kind of tone), felt like knocking him out then and there but kept my cool.

So, Dave fired him straight away and apologised several times on his shops behalf (nothing he could do) and we all had a good laugh about it as, well, people would have thought it was me sending full frontal photos to girls, not good for me, ACC, the resto shop or my family & name (Registry, personal websites etc). It's pretty funny but things like that can be taken to another criminal level, that would be all I need, he may have known my nz4440rt.com site and pretended it was his site giving links in his first email to his girls then shots of his knob in the next email so when people who saw/seen these photos and saw any of our cars out and about they'd think I was him, not good.

So, just a warning here first just in case someone you know spots some nude shots of "Carl" or "NZ440R/T". Nothing major but it's best I let you know prior and although it was done down here, we all know www stands for world wide web. What a fu#ken weird day it's been today, wasn't expecting this shlt when I woke up. I'm just glad we were able to quickly solve who was doing it and put an end to it, small, small, world.

That is all, sorry for the long post, but it wasn't easy to explain clearly in short.

Thanks I know, using photos of cars taken without your knowledge is one thing but using them to "attract" girls then showing those girls your "tackle" is another!! I just hope the sneaky little prick hasn't posted it or used the photo(s) anywhere else! :-X

Yup, he definitely wasn't all there, I watched him leave, said nothing to anyone, hopped in his car & left. Idiot.

One thing is trying to pick up girls on the internet but the way this guy was doing it sounds like a psycho. Glad for you it didn't get too out of control (sounds like it could have).

Consider yourself lucky man!  If I had even half the satisfaction of confronting a Nigerian internet scammer that you had with this guy I'd have a lot less pent up rage.   And cheers to you for keeping it together in his face.

Wow, I'm glad you got that sorted out. There are some scary people out there, and without any remorse or thought for others.  :dunno:
