AS I'm packing up the car he mentions in passing. "if you like these so much I know where there is another one....  But it's a Plymouth.  I called the number he gave me and sure enouygh the guy tells me that he has a basket case 1971 Barracuda Convert for sale. He won't give me a price, tells me to come over and make him an offer. He does not want to talk about it over the phone a lot. What info he did give me was that it is yellow with black interior and top, has a 318 auto w/slap stick and is taken completely apart.  He has it in storage and will not take me over to look until the week after next.  I'll keep you posted. (why do these guiys who don't know what they are doing insist on stripping these cars down to their shell DAMMIT.)

I won't pass on the Cuda unless it is priced crazy. I wanted a cuda but all I could find was the challenger. Now friggin 5 minutes after I BUY the challenger I find the Cuda. I can't afford to buy and restore both so one will go. I can't make that decision until I see the cuda and take a good hard look at both. He tells me that the Cuda is "rusty" so who know that that means until I look.

DON'T E-MAIL ME ABOUT WANTING TO BUY IT CUZ i DON'T HAVE IT YET AND HAVE NOT EVEN SEEN IT YET!

Thanks

Whoa man! Easy on the caps!! ;)

Congrats on the Challenger... hopefully the 'Cuda is better as it's probably worth a little more... and if it's a Barracuda Convert.... check to see if it's a Gran Coupe or not... 318, convert, Barracuda... sounds to me like it is... give us the VIN... we can run it!! :D

Can't wait to see pics either!!

Olddustyrelics, congrats on the Challenger convertible purchase!!!  Too bad you couldn't finance restoring both rides......It would be awesome to have the two kinds of E-bodies in convertible forms! :o 8) :P

Yeah, it sounds great. But think about it. The Challenger will take at least $20K to do right if I do most of my own work because it needs so many parts. The Barracuda souands like it will need a total restoration too that will cost $20K+. Both cars are too nice to half-ass.  That's $40,000 in restoration costs plus gobs of personal labor. I can probably swing one restoration, but not two. I'll look at the Plymouth and keep you posted.
