That's exactly why I have mine on a rotisserie.
 ;D
:iagree:   Rotisserie is the only way to go.  You can probably just take a little propane burner and warm the undercoating up and it should just scrape right off. I rented a larger sandblaster just to clean up the underside. much quicker and simpler, and i think it was actually cheaper than that peice of crap pot blaster i bought from Harbor freight.  Later on i sprayed my entire underside with Raptor Liner.

Yep. Sand blasted entire bottom, and then sprayed self-etching  with epoxy primer right behind it. I came back later and scuffed it up good and then sprayed the raptor liner.

Two years later. I haven't given up, just been busy.

Permatex spray on rubberized undercoating.
Progress!

Very cool car.. I love the blue interior.. is it a white vinyl top too? I sold my brother this 73- it's a red, white top, white interior car with those same white stripes.. I am hoping he joins this site and posts his restoration too.. they are very similar cars. Keep posting pics, looks cool!

Opened up the rear end and cleaned it out and changed the oil seals.

Cleaned the rust off with a wire brush.

Gave it a coat of Rust Bullet...

...and a coat of Eastwoods Chassis Black.

And installed under the car.

Four and a half years and it's back on it's wheels!

Removed the door skin and beat out the dent best I could and cut out the rust.

Re-assembled and mounted.
Now my car not only has wheels it also has one door!

Took a big step today and sent the car to the shop.

I feel like an anxious parent sending his child off to school for the first time.

They tell me three months to finish the body work and paint it.
Can't wait to get it home.

UPDATE!
I knew it would be longer than three months.
They blasted the car down.

Still finding rust.

Making the repairs.

Priming.

Color, finally!

"usraptr" = United States raptor - bird of prey = United States Bald Eagle.  FYI, somebody else thought of it first so I had to drop the "O" in raptor.
