Build Sheet Location

     "Look under the back seat".   

That's what i have always been told the build sheet was put at from the factory.  I think i found what is left of mine, but it is under the drivers front seat.  I put a mirror under the seat and saw a few pieces in between the springs.  Looks like it has disintigrated over the years.

Even if it were still in one piece, you would have to take the front bucket seat out of the car to get at it.  I have never had the rear seat out, so maybe there is one under there too!...   yeah, i know, wishful thinking.

If i could spin the clock back to 1972, i would have put the build sheet under glass in a frame and mounted it on the wall over the fireplace!!!!

I found both of mine.  Under front passenger seat, and behind rear seat back.  The one under the front seat didnt fair to well, but I have at least 75% of it or so.  The one I found behind the rear seat is almost perfect.  Look also under the package tray, under the carpet, behind the front seat backs, under the rear seat, under the dash, taped on the glove box.  I believe thats all the places, I know Barry has a list of them on his site, I'm sure he'll post a link.

    * Taped to the back side / top of the glove box insert.
    * Under the front bucket seats in the springs
    * Inside the bucket seat backs
    * Under the rear seat bottom
    * In the rear seat back.
    * Under the package tray(speaker shelf)

71bigblock........>  You said you found "both" of yours.  Is there a chance that i may find a second build sheet somewhere in the car??  I wasn't aware that there may be more than one build sheet put into each car.

I think there could be potentially up to 5, correct me if I'm wrong. 

I found 2 also, so far.  Driver's seat, behind the upper portion of the rear seat like 71bigblock.

I have found 3:  Under front seat, on top of glove box insert, and under rear seat.  The car is stripped down so I guess that's it for me.

Its almost certain that another one is laying around in there somewhere.

Five is possible. The most broadcast sheets that I have personally found in one car so far is three.

Cars with multiple sheets often contain at least one for a different car due to assembly line procedures, so look at all the ones you find and check the VIN. If you find any that are for different cars, please let me know?

My original seats are long gone, it was a bench. It came with 71 buckets, it had a few shreads of a buildsheet under the passenger seat.

I found my 2nd Broadcast Sheet today under the rear seat back.   It is in really good shape.  My wife made a video of me removing the Broadcast Sheet from the seat springs.  I put it in protective plastic and it has been digitally scanned.  Does the broadcast sheet contain the vehicle production number?  I'm just glad that I found it.  If not for this forum, I would not have ever thought to look for a second sheet.  Thank you everyone who responded with accurate information on this topic!!!

Did you stop looking when you found it or did you keep looking for more? 

The broadcast sheet contains the VON ( Vehicle Order Number ) and the VIN, but there is no such thing as the vehicle production number.

Alaskan_TA.......> Yes, i did stop looking when i found the broadcast sheet behind the rear seat.  I did feel around the glove box area and didn't notice anything and as far as looking under the carpet....no way, i'm not tearing that up to look for anything.   Nothing under the front passenger bucket, but the drivers front seat has one that is nearly gone.  I am just thankful that i found the one i did!

OK, this may be a dumb question  , but is a build sheet and a broadcast sheet the same thing?   

Does the window sticker from the factory contain the same information that is found on the broadcast sheet?   Do you know how many 340 cudas were made in 1973?

They are actually broadcast sheets, look at the very top of it, it says so. ;-)

Build sheet has become common "slang" for broadcast sheet.

The window sticker and the broadcast sheet show some of the same information, but neither one shows everything that the other one does.

For 1973 340 Cudas - Approximately 6,583 sold in the US.

For 1973 340 Barracudas - Approximately 626 sold in the US.

Approximate Canadian and Export numbers are not known.
