Window Reveal Molding Clip Set? Where to get 'em...cheap.
« on: September 12, 2007 - 07:56:07 PM »
I am have a hard time with the notion of paying $1.00 ea. for tiny clips that hold the front and rear windshield moldings on. That just seems ridiculous...  :villagers:

anyone have any suggestion of someplace that might have them at a reasonable price..  :ebay:

One place called Florida Auto Fasteners has a set at a good price but they don't look exactly like the OEM piece..

Thanks in advance!

Brent

I buy clips from a local autobody supply store.  I would check with a few.  They can generally point you in the right direction.

Thanks Moparal. that's very generous. I would appreciate that very much. Do you think you would have enough to do the front and rear. I have one or two but for the most part I need the whole kit (front and rear). If not I understand and will just try to find em some place else.

I should have close to 20 or more. You need the screws too? 70's were screwed in. If so, I have about the same amount of screws...ALAN

Hello ET...I was able to get mine at a local body shop that has been in business for several years.   YO wants over $40.00 for a set and then freight on top of that.   I got 24 clips with the screws for....................$6.00

Check out the pics here on my website.   They should look like these.

Are those particular clips used on all E-Bodies or just the '70s?  Mine sort of look like that but they slide over little "nails".  How are those "nails" insatalled anyway; are they available too?

I understand that the 70s used screws and someone else on here mentioned pins..   I am unsure what other years used other than the 70 and how they attached.

I just replace broken stud type clips with screw in type clips.  You pretty much need the glass out to install them properly.

Both the cars in this post, are the screw type. They are screwed in of course. The studs are welded in the window channel. so it takes 2 differnt types of clps they look simular but one for the stud slides on and then pushes up the screw type has a coating on the screws to prevent rain getting inside your car
