It's alive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
« on: September 12, 2007 - 11:02:06 PM »
Well gang after way too many setbacks and delays I got the Hemi fired up tonight! I had a few buddies over and we got fire from the beast!
It was great we ran it for about 15 minutes at 2000 rpms to burn the cam in and we had no issues! A few small leaks of oil but nothing to be alarmed at. Speaking of alarmed, one of my neighbors thought there was a fire from the oil that was burning off so she called the fire dept! 2 pumper trucks the fire chief and a police cruiser came by to investigate. When the chief realized what was up he said, oh your breaking in a new engine huh? I said yeah he said any problems I said no. He said mind if we check it out, I said come on back. The fire dept proceeded to come back and check it out. The lead fireman said sweet car, I have a 71 Vette with a 350, so I know I was in good company. They stayed a while and asked me to come by with the car once it was all finished.

I just thought I would share my good news with all of you here who have help along the way! Thank you for all of your help.

I love the smell of engine paint burning in the morning.

It reminds me of...........

I'm envious, and that's a cool story about the firemen. Now you have to put up the "That think got a Hemi" comments.

The last time I had firemen checking out my car, my car WAS on fire.

It was a '74 Bonneville with a shaker hood scoop.  I saw smoke coming out of the shaker, popped the hood and the top of the engine was on fire!   :scared:
