Did all Hemi Cudas come with a shaker hood???

If not did they ever come with a bulge hood and if so what did the emblem say? hemicuda  cuda-426?? Just one of those things Ive often wondered.

I believe in 1970 all Hemicuda's came with shakers.  It said "Hemicuda" on the side of the shaker.

The shaker was standard with the 1970 Hemi Cuda, but......

For a while they were not available, so during that time the cars had the raisin bran hood installed.

I do not know what emblems they used since the normal shaker emblems were tapered to fit the bubble. Great question.

Yes all 1970-71 cudas came with shaker hoods.  The badge read: "hemi cuda"  The same can not be said about the Challengers they all did not come with Shakers.

Have you documented one of these cars Barry?  I know of a 70 hemi challenger that came with a T/A hood, as I know the shaker hoods on challengers had a problem. Can't say I've ever seen a 70 hemicuda without a shaker.

I had heard that the challenger hood had a problem in front end impacts, where because it was a clamshell type, it would get pushed thru the windshield. They supposedly fixed that with the 71 style hoods with the crumple folds in them. I dont know if this is true, or just a guess or BS. I just figured it was a problem with the stampings or a vendor problem??

The problem was with both the Challenger and Cuda shaker hoods. They discovered that in a front end collision, the hood could go back through the windshield killing the driver.

The "fix" was the crumple zones. Until they came up with that fix, the N96 hoods were not available.

The whole N94 hood on N96 ordered Challengers thing is BS, the N96 hoods were available again WAY before the N94 hoods came out. The N94 hood was available as an option on Challenger 340s & R/Ts though once the T/As came out. I know of one 340 car, one 383 and two Hemi Challengers with N94. One 1971 340 Challenger as well.

  Isn't this only on Challenger shaker emblems ?
 I don't believe the cuda emblems were tapered . The other engine displacement size call outs (340 - 383 - 440 - 440 six pack)
were three prong for shaker instead of two prong for ralley hood but no special taper right?
Hemicuda emblems all three prong because they were shaker hood only .

 Please clarify for me
