The problem was with both the Challenger and Cuda shaker hoods. They discovered that in a front end collision, the hood could go back through the windshield killing the driver.
The "fix" was the crumple zones. Until they came up with that fix, the N96 hoods were not available.
The whole N94 hood on N96 ordered Challengers thing is BS, the N96 hoods were available again WAY before the N94 hoods came out. The N94 hood was available as an option on Challenger 340s & R/Ts though once the T/As came out. I know of one 340 car, one 383 and two Hemi Challengers with N94. One 1971 340 Challenger as well.
