What about the system that Summit sells for like 200 bucks?  I've been looking at it waiting for someone to post pictures of an install.

I'm waiting for mine to come in the mail this week. I'll post up some pics when I get it in. I have Hedman Shortys on my car though so I won't be able to compare the fitment directly to a standard long tube header application.

So with the shorties, do you just use the stock exhaust pipes?

They will not match up with the stock exhaust pipes, you would have to modify one side or the other to get them to hook up, at least on a big block they didnt.

Sweet, I have a side exit exhaust now and may swap to a full length this winter.  Do you have BB or SB?  I was thinking of the shorties as well.  For ground clearances, summit sells a ceramic set fairly cheap(SB).

I have the original 318 in it now with these shortys on it and an Indy SR headed 511 stroker with some TTI step headers on the engine stand for later when I get the Chally ready for it. For now the 318 mainly serves as the test bed for the mods I plan on incorperating on my car. In order to be able to get any test time on the street I need to put at least some kind of exhaust system on the car. Right now the shortys are just dumping straight out by the oil pan rail. since the car isnt road ready and I only fire it up to move it around, it hasn't been an issue. However I'm trying to get it street legal by winter/spring so I might as well put an exhaust on it while the weather isn't too hot or too cold out.

These heddman shortys are ceramic coated as well. I got them for $150 in very good shape from someone on another Mopar forum. The headers won't line up with the stock exhaust pipes (which I don't have anyway) so I'll have to get a custom head pipe made to match up to the Summit exhaust system. For a low buck DIY solution theres always that semi-solid flex pipe stuff. While it's not what I would want to run on my car, it can be bent as needed and then used as a template to bend some solid head pipes. Then just weld up the header flanges to it and connect it to the new exhaust system. Well, at least that's my plan. 

BTW: the Summit exhaust came in yesterday. I still have the box in my truck so I haven't gotten a look at it yet. Been too busy working on my roof lately. I'll try to get pics posted soon.

I got a set of shorty hedmans, welded 2 bungs for O2 sensors and welded ball flanges on as well so I could run an aer/fuel meter and also have a leak free connection to the exhaust pipes

I've got 3" super 40s dumped at the rear axle and the car sounds amazing. Its somewhat loud, but I like it.

As promised, here's some pics of the Summit 2.5" Challenger full exhaust kit.

The small box in the last pic had broken open inside the big box during transit. I may need to replace a few nuts or washers but everything else looked and fit together fine.

For some reason I just can't seem to get over not having a crossover of some kind.  If summit offered an H or X pipe option, I'd instantly buy it. 

I hooked up my "Temporary" exhaust solution last night:  2.5" reducers, clamped to 2' of 2.5" pipe (to clear the transmission crossmember), clamped to 2.5" inlet flowtech raptor turbos.  All of this was purchased at the local kragen for about $80.

It's still pretty f'n loud though.
