    Lost all electric power in the 'cuda

    I have lost all electric power in the 'cuda. I have checked the fusible link that's on the starter relay. And it's good. And I can't seen any fuses broken in the fuse box. Where do I check next?

    When my fusible link finally went south it looked good and had continuity, but after checking everything else I replaced it anyway.  All problems disappeared at that point.  Well, OK, all electrical problems  :)

    If it's not the link it could be  to be at the bulkhead connector

    Ok, I'll try and replace the fusible link. I have just replaced the starter to High Torque mini starter (Powermaster Mastertorque 9613). Will the fusible link hold up to 50amp?

    It only takes one strand left in that fusible link making contact to have 'continuity' or voltage on the other side. Its ability to power up something/let current run through it goes away however.

    The power for the starter doesnt go thru the fusable link.

    Did anything change between the times when you did and didn't have power? Did you replace anything, do anything?

    Check your connections at the ammeter.

    Do it with the battery disconnected, so you don't short out up in there with a wrench.

    I'd be suspicious of the bulkhead connection too.  They are really marginal for the amp load.

    Yes I replaced the starter. When I turned the key to crank the engine I lost all power.

    Found the problem. The cable from the battery to the starter had burned off. it was to thin (not the stock one that was there). So I added a larger cable and everything now works. Thanks for the tips guys!
