Molded hood insulation pad
« on: September 15, 2007 - 11:10:48 PM »
Has anyone bought or seen the molded hood pad on a E body with the rally hood?  the ads for these all say they fit  E and B body cars. I can't see how they could fit very good if they fit both E and B body cars and are molded. I don't care for the plain jane  pad I have now , if the moled one looks and fits original as they say I want one.

I think they are saying they have them to fit E & B body cars but not one size fits all. I just checked my Charger and Challenger and they are different.

Just a follow up. I bought  a molded E body pad off Ebay from replacmints, the quality and fit are great. it looks 100 times better than the floppy rug I had before.

Their ebay name is replacemints, the company name is the same and they're in Hatfield,  AR.  I'm sure it's the same pad all the vendors sell and it was only $50 from them, if I remember right the buy it now price was only $60 or something and they include the clips also.

I find one on EBay for $60 and the seller refers as to be the "correct version"  :clueless: the one with the breather hole  :dunno: also have the one without the hole because many buyers request, if someone can post a picture of the factory original or a similar it be a great kelp :violin:

Yes you can get them either way, I got mine without the hole. I know having a hole in it is original but it looks like you have the wrong pad, I like it without.  I'll try to get a picture up tonight.

Is your pad "solid material" or encapsulated?

Always hated that sh#% rubbing off my shoulder.... then down into the engine.  :picture:

This is the no hole version, on a '70 Challenger.  it's a solid peice of material, some type of itchy fiberglass. there's no kind of coating or shell if that's what you mean.
