BACK in BLAAACK!!!!
« on: September 18, 2007 - 09:17:19 AM »
OK - been awhile without updating you fine folks. The Cuda should be DONE this weekend. However, that's where the fun continues.. to save money I disassembeld the car and will re-assemble. No rush..

The fenders, doors, header panel and deck lid were painted off the car. We wet sanded the clear and did a 3-stage buff.. they look... AWESOME! The car looks "almost" too nice to drive. Huge props to Deerwood auto in NJ. The guy works tirlessly hard and gave me every opportunity to work on the can to save some $$ along the way. I'll post a bunch more pics of all the hard work.

I can't imagine that I almost traded this for a vert.. Car looks awesome. Better than I could've dreamed! btw - the shell has not yet been wet sanded.. 3 base coats and 4 clear, so there's plenty of material to wet sand. I have more of an appreciation regarding block sanding out the orange peel. I will say I take lots of pride working on my own car.

Looks good.  Black is the best when polished and maintained properly. What did you do for the 3 stage buff? Heavy cut, fine cut and glaze?

CAR PAINTED.. only have the front valance and Shaker hood to finish. DONE this week & I can begin to piece together. I'm very fortunate that he put the windshield trim on.. looks perfect.

The paint looks better in person.. I was floored when I looked at it this weekend.
