Well I don't know if I mentioned it before, but my previous paint estimate fell apart, the guy won't return my calls, so I found someone else. I'll be thrashing on the car all weekend, it goes to the plastic media blasting place next week, and will get epoxy on everything. Then hopefully off to the body shop......  :ylsuper:

Meanwhile I'll get back on finishing the transmission and engine related stuff

I did everything on this car except the fancy paint stuff and I drive it...and I can't seem to stop messing with it....

Tomorrow is the day.......off to the blaster. Got pretty much everything done that I wanted to do before it goes. The stripping place will use my DP 90 epoxy so the car is coming back in "all" black  :ylsuper:
Since the bumpers and the hood are black as well at this point, I'll throw it back together real quick when it comes home next week and take some pics. It will be as close as I will ever be to owning a black car. Still on course to head off for paint at the end of the month (coming up fast!!!)

It's kinda freaking me out too because this car has never been anywhere other than where I live since 1988, I never let anyone else work on it.

soo....

just think, 10-15 years ago, that challenger would have been pretty tough to repair, now you just open a catalog and your wallet..

if things happen the way the painter is describing, I might have the car back before the engine and trans is done that would be a shocker. I'm going to have to start hustling after work to get things going. Some more pics of it pretty much bare.....got super lucky - there is pretty much no rust issues in this thing other than the window channel stuff we fixed 10 years ago.

Pics coming tomorrow, the place called me today, it's bare so I'm off to take pics in the morning. They'll be priming it tomorrow so hopefully it will come home early next week. Then hopefully off to paint a couple of weeks after that.

I lucked out, no rust hole surprises anywhere......some dents I knew about and some pinholes I missed welding stuff up. Even the lead looks pretty good.

Hey man, you got the blasting shop to prime it for you too? Is it regular primer or just a sealer? I have a 73 challenger I just bought and I want to get it blasted before I do anything because it looks like there will be a lot of rust under the paint. But I will have to do alot of work after it comes back before I send it to get painted. You know, welding and stuff like that . But I don't want to leave it bare metal. So I want to blast it and then have it primed or whatever so it can sit like that for the next couple years.

It's an epoxy sealer/primer

Whats the name of it? And the biggest question I have is you got the blasting shop to coat it or you did it yourself?
