The shop (American Stripping in Sacramento) did the stripping and shoots the epoxy primer. I got a decent deal since my car didn't have any paint on it to speak of when I took it in. If the car has a couple of paint jobs still on it from over the years it will be more. They estimate about 4-7 business days to do a car.
Here are some good detail pics from my car. I'm really happy that there isn't any rust issues. The yellow stuff in the pics is body sealer that was left after the stripping process. The holes in the lead in one picture was from me trying to fix something..

I did everything on this car except the fancy paint stuff and I drive it...and I can't seem to stop messing with it....

Your car looks great. We all know starting with a solid body puts your miles ahead. I so wish I kept the B5 Cuda I had when we worked together that was a 0 rust original paint car. When I got " Twisted Fish " back from being dipped I wanted to cry it was so rusty and needed so much work. Keep up the great work Can't wait to see it painted again!

Thanks for the compliments, I think I really lucked out. I knew the car wasn't rusty other than some window channel stuff I dealt with before but I half expected a couple of surprises. I was cleaning some crud out of the drain hole on the passenger quarter and found a mag lug washer stuck in there, pulled that out and found something else - a LH mag lug nut that I must have lost in there during high school. I converted my car from the left hand lugs on the drivers side after I had my driver's front tire almost fall off in 1986. Between the time I got this thing in 86 and now, it was only outside for about 3 years. The rest of the time it has been in the garage in various states of disrepair. Yeah I talked to the paint guy and we're going to tow it to his shop on the 8th of november for him to check it out and give me the final "ok" that he'll do it. I tried to work it out so I could just leave it there that day but he's got one other car to finish up before he can do mine. At this point it may be late January or early February before I get it back but I'm on the schedule and that will leave me a little more time to save money and get the powertrain stuff ready to go in. Good thing I have a friend with a trailer.
Bob - the thing that is funny is for as long as I have known you I don't think you have ever seen the car in one color.
I hardly remember it myself. Your B5 car might have been a better candidate, but you had other stuff going on at the time, oh well. Oh yeah, can you share the place that dipped your car? It's the same place that did Ron's Woodie right?
Here's some old pics of my window channel repairs and car in barn pics....(these are all my car)

The stripping place called, the car is ready to come home, so tomorrow I'll have some pics of the car in one color (even if it is just primer....)

One more question dude, are you gonna strip that primer off later on when you go to paint it or are you gonna leave it on there?

Up to the painter, he's the expert. You can paint over DP after it cures if you sand it first.

At some point I will wipe it down with some wax and grease remover, even shop air doesn't take all the dust off it. Maybe by the weekend I'll have some parts mocked up on it for more pictures. pretty exciting
