yeah - that was me. I've been lazy - I need to finish this story. The real street challenge ended up being a little different than what it was billed as.
70 Cuda, 7.0L Gen-III Hemi, Viper T56 w/9310 gearset, 3.91's, Megasquirt MS3x v3.57, Innovate wideband, Firm Feel upper arms, torsion bars, springs and strut rods, QA1 DA shocks. I did everything on this car except the fancy paint stuff and I drive it...and I can't seem to stop messing with it....

So after the show ended on Sunday, we headed back to the hotel. Since we were going to MATS, we had a whole week to kill between the two shows. I spent the monday after building a center console in the parking lot. I figured anything would look better than a bunch of exposed wiring. On Tuesday we headed over to the Peterson museum. It took 45 minutes to travel 10 or so miles at 10 am in the morning. LA traffic is crazy. I was getting the warning signs that the fuel pump was not happy - it would get super loud, which was concerning but we made it to the museum no problem.

just a teaser of what I have been up to.....

The engine is a 7.0L crate motor that I picked up as a core off of Moparts. It had a spun #4 main bearing and 4 scuffed pistons/cylinders. It was fun trying to figure out what parts were needed and who had them. The guys at arrow racing were helpful when I needed to get pistons and rings since the pistons are their own design from mahle. Luckily the block didn't need to be welded up to fix the main saddle. Found out that one of the rocker shafts was bent and some of the rocker valve pads were scuffed as well. Also had to buy my own torque plate for the machine shop since BHJ had only sold 2 on the west coast and neither were anywhere near my machine shop. I also got rid of the automatic and swapped in a six speed from a viper with the 9310 gearset (6th is supposedly a .69 ratio instead of .50). I should have put the six speed in to begin with, it's like a whole new car with the manual transmission.

hows the MSIII working for you?  I have one on my shelf for my 6.1 in my 68 Charger...   figured the factory PCM wont like boost so may as well...      I also run a T-56 Viper trans but I kept the .50 6th...      coupled with a 3.91 should be a LOT of fun...    I might sell off my 6.1 and get a 6.2L short block - they are affordable enough and built for boost already....     hoping for 12psi and 750hp
2013 Dodge Challenger R/T - 5.7L / 6-speed

1973 Dodge Challenger Rallye - 340 / Auto

1968 Dodge Charger - 6.1L / 6-speed

1964 Dodge Polara - 440 8-71 / 4-speed

I've been really happy with the ms3, they keep updating the firmware with more features on a regular basis. The auto tune function works well for the a/f ratio. I still want to get the car dyno tuned as well
