Thanks!

I hope they come out well. I want to actually finish this thing so I can drive it again. I used POR-15 between the trunk skin and the trunk frame since I found some rust in one of the corners, but I couldn't get at it with anything. I thinned the POr-15 out and used it like gas tank sealer, just swished it around. made a mess but I was still cleaning the paint off the trunk lid frame anyway. Also put on sealer for the edge where I added the welding rod, but I don't like how it came out so I am going to remove it and do something else.

What exactly have you got planned Eric.......

Oh, i thought you had drawn black nikko pen on the underside of the trunk lid, then realised looking back that it is the Por-15 runs :smilielol:

But what are you doing next................ :clueless:

Maybe just use a bit of the plastic filler instead of the sealer on the underside, i think it would hold up pretty good.

Good idea on the por 15.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking on the edge, I'll use some filler instead of the urethane sealer. Hoping to get some dp40 on the trunk lid Sunday.

Hey guys, is plastic filler the same as what you call bondo ?

Just be carefull using products near bondo as it is like a sponge and will absorb any type of product and some products will make the bondo break down and start seeping or leeking wich will effect finish painted surfaces. :2thumbs:

All the sealer and filler (bondo) that got any of the POR-15 on it will be removed and re done, I know what you mean on the filler absorbing anything and then leaching it into other layers of primer/paint. After I'm done with filler I'll cover it with the epoxy then it can sit and I won't have to worry about it getting contaminated. - thats the reason I stopped working on the engine and transmission stuff I was doing before, I was worried about contaminating the filler with oil or atf in the air when I am cleaning stuff. I'm sure you have heard horror stories about WD-40 ruining paint jobs.

:banghead: Oh yea, i know what you mean buddy.............. Does not happen straight away sometimes but give it a little while to work and all he11 breaks loose. :crying:  Are you going to coat the underside of your hood the same way as the trunk lid when time comes ?   Seems like a great idea to do everything this way, even to the extent of spining the car upside down on the rotiserie and doing the underside of the roof and pushing the liquid around with an air gun................... :2thumbs:  The possabilties are endless on a rotiserie. :working:

I think that the underside of the roof can be sprayed pretty easily, I havent decided how I am going to do the underside of the AAR hood, but that is still a ways off. Here is what I got done today, removed some old urethane sealer, and used filler to cover the gap between the filler rod and the trunk edge. It came out pretty good, then I used the sealer to cover the edge where the trunk skin and the frame connect. Pretty much ready to shoot some DP on it after work tomorrow. Hope it comes out ok.

Looking good. :2thumbs: I forgot you had a glass hood (AAR) Por-15 or a rust inhibitor would be pretty useless on fibreglass :smilielol:  But it would be worth while spraying down inside the A-pillars.  I have cut them open on cars before and noticed nastiness beneath the surface in these areas.

Hey Eric,

I have tried sending e-mails through your work e-mail eseifert@alldata.com only to have them returned and unable to send to that address buddy.

We have a new member who is going to help with the door delivery.  Scott 383efi, great guy.  I have e-mailed through eric@ntstlgl.com as it is the only one that works.  Thanks, Kenny.

Hi Kenny,

I updated your thread with my contact info, I'll also respond via the other email to make sure we have our bases covered. Weird that my email bounced, I'll try and email you direct from work and see what happens.
