Picked up the lower from my buddy, came out really nice. I think I am done welding in the ports finally. Glad I welded the top and bottom of the injector inserts, couple spots broke through the weld on the top, but no worries. This is a huge step forward.

sat down and finished opening the plenum plate to the intake openings, what a mess that was. I have a lot of respect for guys who port heads for a living. Also put some 440 source valve covers on it. hopefully more to come this week.....

How are you going to do injector hold-downs?  Will they tie to the upper plenum, or are they integrated into the lower?  Looks great, btw.

Nice!     I thought about maybe getting some of those valve covers too, you know, to keep with the "fabricated" theme.

Thanks! The bottom of the injector rail is thick enough to run a bolt through for a hold down. I'm going to weld some short round stock out from the runner to meet the rail and bolt the injector to it with a countersunk or cap head allen bolt. Should be pretty clean I think. I'm happy with the valve covers so far. I need to pick up some new fasteners since the gasket rail is thicker than the steel covers. After hearing all the stories about 440 source quality issues on moparts, I think these covers are very nice.

I'm doing mine the same way.  My extrusion should be here next week, so I'll have some pics up after that.

Are you getting your rail material from RMR (ross machine racing)? Seems like they have about the best prices on rail extrusion and other cool intake components.

I'd love to do another intake using their oval runner tubing and radiused inlet bells, but that is a project for another time...

Something else that I worked on recently was the gas tank. Since there is no baffle or sump in it, I bought an aeromotive sump kit. Just like everything else, it wouldn't fit without cutting the sump apart. I had to make the sump box about 3" narrower to fit between the gas tank straps. I boxed in the top of the sump since it is not in the ideal location, it should hold 1/2 - 3/4 of a gallon under acceleration so I hope that will work out ok. Cutting a 12 inch hole in the gas tank was interesting (the tank has been empty in my shed for over a year, so no gas fumes left). Had to section out an opening for the stock fuel level sender to travel through. I did my best tig welding (so far) on the top of the sump - of course it will never be seen again after it's welded into the tank.
