It got great gas mileage.  :2thumbs: I wrecked it. Slid on ice and hit a van head-on. It's in Mopar Heaven. :angelwings:

:scared:  Wow!  Glad to see your ok!  When did this happen?  :clueless:

Glad to hear you survived too . . . and so . . . why were you driving it on ice anyways??    :nono:

 :iagree:

When I had my new Cuda back in '73, I stopped driving it in the winter because if it snowed, it could not even go over a speed bump because the back end was so light. Also had several occasions where I did a couple of 360's in the middle of the road while travelling down snowy highways. Never hit anything, but considered myself lucky and decided not to push it.

It happened 20 years ago. This car was my everyday driver. I didn't drive it in the snow. I lived 1/2 mile from work, so I could walk when there was bad weather.  I took it out for a drive. Every road here was clean and dry.  I topped a hill and hit 200 feet of ice. The EMT and the State Trooper both wrecked coming to the accident. And they were both warned about the ice. PennDot has fixed the drainage problem there since my accident. They traced accidents back 30 years at the same spot. Some had fatalities. There have been no accidents there since they fixed the road. :2thumbs:

Yikes, scary looking wreck, glad you made a full recovery. I had a 71 Chally 6 banger but I never drove it. I bought it as a parts car and just took stuff off it. I still have what is left of the shell. white with green interior and a highback bench seat.

Thanks for the info, Jackie.  That's quite a wreck you made it through!

What is left of the shell, any pics?

I dont have any recent pics of it. I took the rear tailpanel off with a reciprocating saw and used it on my 71. The previous owner had hacked the tailpanel to put in 70 taillights. There is not much left of it, a few pieces laying around here and there. Pretty rusty for this area also. I will try to get a pic the next time I am at my dads place where I have my parts cars.

I did not understand it was in that many pieces.  Don't worry about the pics.   :2thumbs:

Yeah it is just a shell and now my buddy will most likely take the roof because his 73 Challenger rallye has bad cancer under the vinyl top. I have never seen a nastier looking roof, almost makes me want to leave mine a hardtop lol.

Does anyone know if there was ever a slant 6 convertible E-body?

I am pretty sure there was. I am trying to track down a supposed 70 Barracuda /6 vert in this area. Supposed to be a base model but I dont care as long as it is in decent shape.

Definately, a friend of mine has a Barracuda that he's keeping. I bet Hamtramck-Historical (Barry) has production figures on them.

There was an all original green 70 Cuda this year at Carlisle, that had the leaning tower of power in it. Talk about a sleeper car, you couldn't even hear the exhaust.
