Death Proof Challenger

I was watching Death Proof last night and noticed that the challenger in it had full framed doors, these cars didnt come like that right. i have never seen one before but thought, hey, there were some out there options back then. looked really goofy to me though.

I didn't see the movie yet. Are the doors like that in every shot? Sometimes they just use mockups, and they don't use the actual vehicle in every shot. Also, sometimes they just make a fake car out of another car.

they added frames. Kind of pivotal for what they wanted to do with the stunts. One of the cars was on Ebay a few months ago. Unless you are a Tarentino fan you only need to watch the last 30 minutes of the movie.

I wish they had wrecked up the dang mustang in the movie instead of that Challenger. The Charger they messed up was pretty nice too if you look past the fact that it was jacked up in the air like a 4x4.

didnt like the movie or the car sceens as they wrecked the MoPars

  It had to do with the stunts or camera mounting.

I remember watching the Ebay auction several months ago.  The car sold for a little under $11k if my memory serves me right.  I thougth that was a deal to own a piece of potential automotive cult history!

I've just purchased the DVD off eBay, can't wait. From what I've heard it should make me rather eager to grab the keys and go out for a drive in Lucy. I'm all for watching a White 70 Challenger on big screen. Pity about the damage though. Oh well, we better all watch & buy the movie then to make the sacrificed Mopars deaths worth it.

It is a decent flick and you will enjoy the extended car scene if you can get past the carnage. I love the fact that old mopars make it into these movies but it is such a shame that they have to die to do it! I wince just thinking about that beautiful white R/T Challenger in Terminal Velocity,  pretty decent flick with Charlie Sheen in it but they just shoot the hell out of a very clean R/T

After watching the movie I saw why they needed the full frames on the doors but that did not make them look any better. I also hated the funky side mirrors they had on the car.
