It is hard to believe so many people get down on the longitudinal stripe, I love them. Bumblebee, longitudinal R/T's for both years, hockeystick, AAR, T/A, billboards, longitudinal Gran Coupe's, I think they all look awesome!

Exactly. For a 70 I would have the longitudinal over the bumblebee or the T/A anyday. Love the RT in the stripe.

The T/A stripe is perfect for the T/A cars with the T/A hood and spoilers. The side stripe looks best on the R/T's.

I have that side moulding, and it supposed to be on.  It is going back on my car, I like it.   :2thumbs:

My Top Banana 70 440 R/T convertible came with V5X vinyl insert moulding, and its going back on there!  :bananasmi

I like the looks of it on this convertible!  :bananasmi

I love the Magenta stripe!

The first of the 2 pink stripe cars is mine. I also have a White 340 Challenger with white bumble bee stripes that I'm restoring. I keep a registry of rare stripe E-bodies. If anyone has pics or numbers for any I'd love to add them to my registry.

Thanks,
Ken (KGB68@aol.com)

That was him alright. Jackie, he is the one that took the photos I sent you a while back of Shelby and her car.

I'm partial to the Ledger Paper Green stripe. Partly because of the effort I went through to get them reproduced 15+ years ago.

Kiss,

I LOVE that white on white combo, I can't recall ever seeing a white on white car (any Mopar model) how many do you have registered? Does yours also have a white interior?

Thanks! It has the salt&pepper cloth interior. It's a bizarre car. Besides the cloth seats it has the V21 hood stripe, Go-Wing and AM/8-track stereo. But it's also got manual steering and brakes and a 3 speed manual.

It's the only one in my registry though someone told me they parted out a White R/T with white longitudinal stripes back in the '80s. No numbers on that one though. :(

The oddest thing is that since bumble bee stripes are paint on the R/T and 340 how should white on white work? What color is the stripe supposed to be?

Though this thing is beat to death and it's coded for white stripes I'm not sure the ones on it are original. They are painted over the body color which is not the way bumble bee stripes are normally done. Also, the back is painted black like on a T/A though that could have been done when they put on the black pinstripes. It also has black and red paint in the engine compartment.

I wish I had a history on the car so I'd know more about it. I need to get a true expert to look at it before I restore it. Right now I'm just taking it apart.

PS> In my registry I have 4 other cars with bumble bee stripes that match the paint color. FF4/V9F, FC7/V9C, TX9/V9X and EK2/V9K. All of those cars are early build cars so maybe they were ordered thinking the stripe would be tape. My car is a May build car.
